You say potato, I say Pattada :-)

Image

Still this one, been a few weeks now I think. With a 1.5 day old 325 grit edge on it :-)

We had a couple of large (double door size) quadruple layered stiff/heavy duty cardboard boxes come in (to work) Thursday night (with slabs of micarta in them). This is the knife I had with me, and so I decided to not only cut open the boxes with the Patatta, but go ahead and cut all the cardboard up into ~ 1 ft x 1 ft pieces - so a pretty unbelievable amount of very thick, stiff cardboard...

I am happy to say that while the knife edge did of course experience wear, I cut it all up with this knife AND... AND! Zero hot spots, blisters, etc... after all that pretty "high pressure" cutting. I was VERY PLEASED with the ergos of this knife! No gloves worn either, just my old calloused hands.

And, after having carried this knife now for a few weeks or more, I'd like to re-answer the one question I was asked about it, when I posted a photo a week or so ago now.

I think it was JSumm who asked it.... "would I change anything?"

This knife is kinda "slick". What I mean by that specifically is: The tail end, where you "pinch" when grabbing it to take out of your pocket. It's a little on the, not as grippy as I'd prefer side. I can get the knife out and use it when I need to, but it's a bit slick...
So, the one thing I'd change (aside from making it lighter if possible), is to have that tail end a little more textured, providing a little better "grip" for extracting from yer pocket to use.

The knife is a dream to use though! The cardboard I cut up filled to 40 gal trashcans and more, stayed super comfortable in hand The Entire Time... It was very heavy duty cardboard at that, not the "regular" thin easy to cut stuff...

I remember the Pattadese being a little slick when I held it at my local shop. Such a great design though. A lot to love.

CruWear needed some attention. Will be carrying this one for a while, I think. After not carrying a PM2 for a while, it feels so right.
