makes me think of the few "fruit fly traps", I've made cutting the tops off of plastic bottles, flipping the tops over, and putting back onto (now into) the bottom part of the plastic bottle(s). put some apple cider, or balsamic, vinegar, some water, and a bit o' dish soap in them, ...
Well done sir! I was MC last night as we burned through several boxes of TNT brand fireworks. Yours look professional grade! This year I lit everything with a blowtorch rather than Bic lighters. With all the neighborhood kids lining up for sparklers, made life much easier and I didn’t burn my fingers at all like I normally do trying to light sparklers. The only pic I have is from my MIL after everyone left; we’d managed to set the dock on fire!
i didn't take any pictures last night, but the humble roadie did a great job opening packages of glow bracelets, bottle rockets, and mortars for the freedom festivities.
After a looong time of non-Spyderco EDC, I'm back with the Byrd Meadowlark Rescue SE. Used it yesterday to open some pallets at work; literally the weight of the knife was enough to glide through the wrapping material. Also cut up some cardboard.
Today I opened some bags of softener salt, and cut a kiddie-pool up into quarters.

So far today the only Spyderco I’ve used today is the Sharpmaker. Thank you Sal and co. for the CBN rods!!! The M4 Shaman got reprofiled to 15dps (it was really close already) and its first sharpen after the factory edge was done, and now I’m working on my DLT Cruple PM2, which had the misfortune to be in my pocket when our old and heavy canister vac dropped onto my foot. I was already tired of fighting that thing, but after that it got chucked and I cut the suction hose in an attempt to break it down into smaller parts for the bin. Or attempted to cut the hose… Apparently there were wires made of sterner stuff in that hose. The result was a Spyderco PM2-shaped butter knife, I do not exaggerate. Repair actually took only as long as reprofiling the M4 Shaman to 15dps, I was surprised. Always interesting to sharpen different steels back-to-back, though I try not to have to have a “sharpening day”. Next up, the Z-wear Shaman, and I’ll finish up with my Salt 2 that I plan to use next week when I’m drilling. Can you say, fully sweat saturated clothing and dehydration? Yeah buddy. We’ll be pounding water and Powerade throughout the day.
Dodo cut some trimmer line and trimmed back a few unwanted branches on my hedge bush.
I rate the DODO model as being thee very best small bladed folder ever!!. I've got to get one of these new Full SE models. I miss the original full SE model so much that it was regretful that I ever traded the one I had.
I could give a very lengthy list of cutting chores I've found the Dodo model to work extremely well on. If I lived in a state, county or city that had draconian knife laws with blades 3 inches or less limit>> I would go with the Dodo in almost every case.
Oh the main reason I chimed in this evening is to let you all know that I cut out some renegade vines growing in the neighbor's shrubbery with my full SE, Stainless Handled RESCUE model ( ATS-55 era) and it sawed through those vines even better than a pruning saw would. I just can't believe how many rough jobs I've found my Full SE, Stainless handled RESCUE model to be good for. Oh how I wish that bad boy would qualify for a Sprint Run at some point.
I've found the Dodo to be a great design. It's like having a full and solid grip on a hawkbill Ladybug. Glad I got one .
You've spoken highly of that Rescue through the years. Assuming performance is similar enough to my wharncliffe Endura, I completely understand and would agree with you
