Just hit five years at my current place of employment; figured it was a good excuse for a new watch (I try to keep my watch purchases much more controlled than I've been able to for knives...)
Nothing too fancy or unique but I am really liking this "Casioak" (yes, I know they just dropped a bluetooth/solar version, no, I don't want my watch talking to my phone).
Also ft Cruwear Manix2; looks like I'm unintentionally mirroring DukeBrnz a couple posts up.
Finally, a taste of summer!
Temps have been around 50F/10C (+/- av couple degrees) for a long time now, but today we made a sudden jump to 73F/23C.. oh man… How sweet to finally put on a shorts and t-shirt and don’t be cold.
Boldr Venture (v.1) and Ladybug Salt
Both rugged, sweat resistant, lightweight and affordable. Perfect companions in hot, sweaty summer and light, minimal clothing.
I don’t live in the coldest part of the country, those who live farther north like to say they have two winters, a long one with snow and short one without.
So far this “summer”, that’s kind of how it has felt here in the central parts as well.
It’s kind of weird, cause farther south in Europe, and even the southern parts of Norway, the spring and summer so far has been dryer and warmer than usual. There’s actually drought warnings, water rationing and record high electricity prices (for the season).
I’m glad we got spared from of all of that, but I’m really ready for some hotter weather now, while also realizing that my definition of “hot” is winter temps for some of you guys
it's all relative. in some parts of my country people will wear shorts and a t shirt when the weather hits 60F. In other parts people still wear pants and hoodies when it's 80F out.
I'm pretty well acclimated to the heat so going for a 20 mile bike ride in the middle of the day when it's over 100F doesn't bother me. But I do wonder how I'd fare camping in under 0F conditions - been over a decade since I got to do that.
To get things back on topic a bit.....I ordered a new strap for my Garmin that should be a near perfect match with my dyed Pacific Salt. Old pic, but carrying the same watch and another Pacific today.
first time carrying my m2lw in over a month. my m390 manix has been getting most of the carry since i got it and upgraded it. i'm not sure i could pick which i like best between the two, but i really like the upgraded ti ball cage and micarta scales on my m390 manix. when the magnacut m2lw with screws is released, i don't know if i'll be carrying this one much anymore. that's weird to say because this knife has been my favorite for years.
eta: man, i could've at least straightened the bezel for the picture.
