It was a joke
Not to imply that your intent wasn’t a joke, but it originally came off as condescending as if we are the reason spyderco can’t expand or offer something better... We’ve been told many times, or better said, guilted by people here who essentially say “stop complaining about models you don’t like and just buy it; if you don’t buy it retailers or spyderco won’t make new exclusives or sprints”. I’m not apt to eat a **** sandwich in order to get a better sandwich tomorrow and what you wrote basically stated that exact sentiment.
Having a bad day? Comparing this knife or situation to eating a sh** sandwich is pretty extreme. Buy it or not no one cares.
I’m actually having a great day sitting out in the sun next to my pool browsing sites. I don’t contend that this knife is anything, nor would I compare this to something undesirable rather that someone (not you) suggesting that one purchase a product that someone doesn’t like or want is akin to eating something undesirable in order to get what they want. I’m sorry you can’t see that but as you note, no one cares.

Back on topic because I’m interested in this knife: I called knife center and am now a bit perplexed. For a knife that drops supposedly tomorrow, they are unable to provide any details on what the knife is, whether or not an update is coming today, or when the mystery knife goes on sale tomorrow. That doesn’t seem very organized for a knife less than 24 hours out.

In other news the guy on the phone threw spyderco under the bus by saying that spyderco hasn’t allowed them to release any information on it yet. I find that a stretch to believe…
I wonder if they're trying to reduce site strain, since almost every shaman exclusive drop anywhere has crashed sites within the first few minutes.

Thats odd..... I'm interested, but with no info on it makes it a hard decision to make on diverting funds to it or not.....

I wonder if their thinking "it's an exclusive Shaman, it's going to sell out quick regardless" Which...is likely true, but would be nice to let people know ahead of time. Obviously just my thoughts.

The Shaman is a bit too heavy for me, but I'm always happy to see more micarta, especially burlap. I could definitely go for a burlap micarta Native, though.

S90V is one of my all-time favorite stainless steels…. But I find it to be an odd choice for a hard use knife with thick blade stock.

:rofl :rofl :rofl

i love how they say it's a good price because it's close to the price of the standard production model. all that does is show how overpriced the standard model is.

Wow this is a nice combo, I’m tempted. I’ve been trying to cut back on purchases lately but this may pull me back in.

Compare it to other S90V options from other manufacturers. The fact that it's the same price as the S30V model means that it *is* a good price, even if it's going to be out of the price range for many.

My Crucarta Shaman and my CF S90V Shaman have me covered. Otherwise, I’d be all over this one. Good luck to all who want one.

This one is not calling to me. I like the steel but the scales are kinda meh to me. I think I just don't like the course burlap look.

Given that the Blade HQ green canvas micarta took 3 or 4 hours to sell out, it would seem that this Knife Center version will last at least as long (if it was produced in similar quantities)

I will be looking to get one! I do hope that the Burlap micarta is not slick...however that seems to usually be the case in my experience.

s90v will be great paired with titanium scales. Thick steel makes for a stronger blade.

I haven't bought a new Spyderco in a while, and I really think this is a nice knife, but already having Shaman's in 4V and Rex45 with micarta, as well as a Smock with burlap micarta...I don't think I have much to gain. Still no guarantees!! But I think I'll be able to pass...I think

I’d bet they ordered quite a few of these to get the price down.

I’m tempted, but probably won’t jump on it immediately. Simply too many other irons in the fire.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
