I have more interest in utility of the knife.

The forward position of the blade would seem well served in reverse grip right ?
As well as utilitarian mind set I would think that could serve well.

In spite of the fact that the C-60 Ayoob was primarily designed as a premium self defense knife I've personally found the C-60 to be an excellent folder for a wide range of utility purposes.

As far as ergonomics I still rate the C-60 Ayoob as being one of the 3 best folders Spyderco ever made. Try carrying a C-60 for at least 2 weeks and you will be pleasantly surprised at how versatile that folder can be for a wide range of cutting jobs.

And I can say all of that for both edge types too.

how will we know when this is going to drop? will we see notifications from the sites that are carrying it or will spyderco announce a release date?

My gut is telling me that we will see it before July 04, 2022. Truly I expected it before now. When it does finally drop I've got a feeling that it's going to catch most of us by surprise.

Indicators of the C-60 Sprint Run being released are the following:
(1) You'll be hearing the song "Happy Days Are Here Again" playing everywhere you go.
(2) Your Spyder Brother JD Spydo will scream "HALLELUJAH" so loud you guys will hear it all the way from Kansas City MIssouri USA Earth.
(3) The Weather Channel will announce absolutely perfect weather that day ( for the first time in human civilization).
(4) The New York Stock Exchange will rally so good that all the loses that have occurred in the past year will be erased.
(5) Martha Stewart will announce her wedding plans to tie the knot with rapper Snoop Dog.
(6) Coach Jon Gruden will return to the NFL.
(7) And Spyderco CEO Sal Glesser will be awarded TIME MAGAZINE's "MAN OF THE YEAR" award.
(8) And Vince McMahon of the WWE will submit his first knife design to Spyderco only to be refused!!!
oh and one last thing>> our good Spyder-Brother "The Deacon" will win his fourth consecutive term as mayor of Spyderville.

THOSE WILL BE JUST A FEW INDICATORS

Do you think we'll hit over 100 pages on this thread David???? Will that be before or after the release?

Or do you think they'll just toy with us for a while? I just keep hoping that we'll get it before July 04th

Also I'm wondering which one of the knife magazines will do the first article on it? Tough questions to answer for sure.

I'm betting that "Knives Illustrated" will be the first one to write about it. Just a gut level feeling but "K I" tends to lean in that direction. They have been doing more articles on practical "user" type blades in the past 4 years it seems.

you guys crack me up. if i have to wait to find out it has dropped based on this thread or forum, i'm not sure i'll make it in time. i don't think this one is going to take up shelf space at any of these dealers.

i think there's a good chance the thread breaks 100 pages after the knife is released and we're all on here talking about it.

We'll surely have a release date before the actual day, but that won't help with your other purchases until you know when that is. Personally I've got the funds set aside already (and have for probably a year now). I even plan on taking the day off work...not playing around with this one.

I’m pretty sure this sprint will just start showing up “in stock” at retailers as they receive them. Some retailers might announce a date for when they plan on putting them up for sale but this one won’t have a universal release date similar to an exclusive. Not only that but Sal has already mentioned that they’re produced and shipped in batches so there could end up more than one “re-stock,” so to speak.

I still believe that there will be ample opportunity for those that want one of these to get one of these. Especially those that want serrated edge.

Yes, they’ll just show up at dealers usually with a smaller batch at the beginning. The price is attractive. It all depends on how many of each are produced. Is it 600 or 1200 or more?

I'm truly wondering about that last statement. Because all through this thread I've heard many more guys seem to want the serrated version over the plain edge. And that's probably the first time I've ever seen so much demand for a serrated version of any particular Sprint Run.
I do think that there will be a bigger demand for a serrated version of this run of the C-60 than we've ever seen in the past two previous runs based on all the feedback over the past 18 months or so. However I have no idea how many serrated units they are going to make available out of this Sprint Run.

It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

As I said previously Spyderco has not indicated how many serrated units they are going to make available in this Sprint Run. With all the demand I seen on this thread ( especially in the early stages) I do hope that they make it 60% PE and 40% SE. Heck they could make it 50/50 and I think they would sell out.

Again I am really anxious to see how well Cruwear does with a serrated blade.

Would you or anyone else by chance know which well known dealers will be selected with the sale of the C-60 Ayoob Sprint Run? So many folks make reference to many reputable knife dealers and there are so many of them mentioned throughout the year that I tend to wonder which ones might be chosen to take on this enviable task?

I also wonder which dealer might get them first?

Just kind of thinking out loud I guess.

I’ve see a number of sites listing a PE and SE as “coming soon” with prototype photos.

Can someone confirm if this will have a 4-way clip?? If this is true it might a fantastic one to Ziptie (even if just for nostalgia).

Well Brother it's always great to get your input on these types of discussions. And yes you are right about some dealers already having them listed in their websites and so forth. But I've got two really good buddies here locally where I live that I hunt and fish with who both want at least 2 of these C-60 models.

My best friend tried to order two of them in advance and they would not take his order. He told them that he didn't have a problem with paying for it in advance but yet they wouldn't take his order at all. I just don't understand that at all :thinking

Not sure about 4 way clip configurations/options. But there was talk about it on this thread at one point. That would be a great option to have. I do know that both the SE & PE models will have Cruwear blades and brown G-10 handles. Always good to hear from you Blerv :cheap-sunglasses
