Re: Ugly Pro-Tech
I keep eyeing Pro-Techs, but I need to find an in-State dealer first.

I really like the 3 I have. Fire super hard. That one looks nice too.
Re: Ugly Pro-Tech
My experience buying autos is most retailers are just happy to take your money and will ship autos to you even if you’re out of state.

Re: Ugly Pro-Tech
Very true, however I'm trying to remain on the friendly side of the law. So few auto dealers here in Florida which is weird.

Re: Ugly Pro-Tech
IMO, Pro-Tech makes the best-quality auto knives.
Here is my old CA-legal Runt that I've had for at least 20 years. I kind of wish it had a straighter edge, otherwise I'd have carried it a lot. This is obviously an old version of the Runt that may or may not be made anymore. Blade steel is 154CM. The action is still as strong as ever.

I agree. I've had a few others, but nothing that compares in fit and finish to the Pro-Tech.James Y wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 4:35 pmIMO, Pro-Tech makes the best-quality auto knives.

Granted, I haven't tried them all, (no MicroTech yet) but from what I've read, Pro-Tech is hard to beat.
Loving this one so far!

Re: Ugly Pro-Tech
A buddy of mine at work has one, all black with a fish scale looking scale, kind of a rubber texture? Really nice knife with snappy action. It's perfect for an all black knife. I'll have to ask him which model, as I don't follow them regularly.

Re: Ugly Pro-Tech
I would agree Pro-tech makes an extremely good knife.
I have a blue reverse tanto Malibu and this.
It’s a Bradley Underboss.
Pro-tech made it for Bradley. It’s handle is almost the same as the Pro-tech Godson except that it’s slightly wider. I’ve had this knife easily over 10 years and it still fires as hard as day one, never an issue. 154CM if you’re wondering.

Re: Ugly Pro-Tech
They make a TR-5 (same as the model I pictured in the OP) but instead of an auto, it's spring assist with thumb stud. They call it the Lerch. I'll probably pick one of these up as well someday.

Matthew Lerch is the designer of the that one.

Re: Ugly Pro-Tech
I found a dealer in state and, ah, accidentally ordered a pre-owned Ultratech S/E. The Pro-Tech gets pushed back again.
Thanks for the offer any way!

Re: Ugly Pro-Tech
Funny how that happens!
Nope, nothing standing out to grab at the moment...but as we know, there will be eventually! Wouldn't mind a little more pocket change for summer activities.
