Orange G-10 question

Wondering how Cutlery Shoppe’s bright orange G-10 holds up…does it show dirt and grime easily? Is it easy to clean up?

Hey Chris, a couple years ago those were my most hyped and anticipated exclusives. I managed to get one of the DLC Para 3's. The color is a very vibrant orange, it really does look awesome.

But, if you plan on using it and work in a dirty environment, expect those scales to show dirt very easily. I do warehouse work and my jeans get dirty easily. Sometimes the knife would get dirt and grime just sitting in my pockets, not even using it. One time I wore a brand new pair and the dark blue bled right into the scales.

Luckily the G10 was very easy to clean using a magic eraser, but it became annoying and a chore to clean them every couple days so they still looked good. Those scales, dirty...I did not find attractive like othrt colors when looking dirty or worn.

I once had an orange PM2 from Cutlery Shoppe: yes, it does show dirt a bit more easily than darker tones... but at least you know when to clean it up!

Is it easy to clean up?

Rubbing the scales with a damp cloth usually does the job. If it's really dirty you can use a toothbrush (preferably not yours )

Same here with the CS Native Chief . They look nice but can be high maintenance in dirty environments . I keep mine looking good with tips that have been suggested . MG2

No. But your question certainly has me wondering why I haven't. In fact I'd forgotten I owned one. I mostly have filthy frn knives to try this on first but when I get a G10 dirty enough for special treatment I'll try this and report.

I find that Ballistol is a really good cleaning agent for G10 scales….brings them back!
