Stretch XL Salt! Please Sal, can you make this happen?

I am FROTHING for a Salt version of the Stretch XL! Anyone else??

There are threads on this forum from 10 years ago where you can find me begging for a Military Salt, namely a “backlock” Military Salt. You won’t hear me asking for that anymore. The Stretch XL is everything that I could have ever wanted out of a Backlock Military and then some. Very similar blade but with an edge/belly profile that I prefer. Better ergonomics than a Military (for my hand) in a handle that is more compact. It turns out that I didn’t really want a Millie Salt, I wanted something that didn’t exist yet. Well, now it does and I’m VERY excited about the possibility of a Salt version of this knife! I would love to know if this is something that is in the works!

My personal preference would be for a serrated version in H1 and a PE version in LC200n or Magnacut. Either would be great but based on my testing I would choose Magnacut. Personally, I would like a Black/Satin version too. Not everyone wants a bright yellow handle on every Salt knife. I really miss some of the Black/Satin options that used to be available in some of the Salts.

H1 seems like a nonstarter due to blade grind?

Regardless, I'd buy one in whatever "Salt" steel. It's a great knife.

i think it would be awesome. i like the stretch ergos and would love to see a straight spine and a sheepsfoot option also.

I think that no matter what the knife is, if you start a thread asking for such and such as a Salt or with Magnacut you're going to get the same 15-20 people saying "yes, I need that knife"

you could say the same for a lot of things. "if only this knife had this lock." "we need a sprint in a steel that holds an edge until four days past the apocalypse on this knife." everyone has preferences they'd like to see on their favorite models.

do you mean by that something like what I always say that I prefer in the Stretch over so many other Spydies:

- The very long, totally straight section of edge before the pronounced belly rises?
(As opposed to the contionous curve in the edge like Millie, PM2, Manix... actually most non-wharnie Spydies ...have) ?

For me that long, straight edge- section makes the Stretch cut more powerfulyl and better in tasks like whittling.

/ On topic: Though in my use VG10 models
are already "Salt knives", I do hope there 'll be a "real" Salt version too.

The stretch xl is a linerless frn design. I think they can make a salt version almost instantly if they want to. It will probably happen.

I support any model in any steel because I love knives.

But didn't Spyderco plan on using the N5 Salt MagnaCut as a test piece before anything else?
We might see a beautiful Stretch XL Salt, but in a few years if all goes well. Or with another Salty steel, but this would most certainly take rule to get in queue too

I would like to see the Stretch XL in magnacut, though it will probably be a while before Seki is able to get/use magnacut. Sal mentioned the issue, I believe. The stretch xl blade shape would be my preference, though a native chief lw salt in magnacut may be a quicker possibility.

That's why Eric made the piece linerless. The original design had skeletonized liners. He's thinking long term on salt variations.

Frankly, I'm really enjoying mine, both the plain and serrated versions.
