If the Rock Jumper had jimping and a Boye dent it would be great

If the Police LW had a Boye dent it would be great

If the Endela Wharncliffe had Cruwear and Micarta it would be perfect. The same could be said for the Delica Wharnie.

If the Dragonfly had an SE Dodo-shaped or Cricket-shaped blade it would be perfect

If the Jester had the Manbug handle it would be perfect

Change any model over to a back lock or liner lock with a blade at ~ 3.7 inches or less and I’m in.

Either have a finger choil or handle forward design as well.

We are a picky lot, aren’t we?!?!

I think I'd like the mid-backlock Manix from a few years ago with a CBBL. I prefer that model's thicker handle, the fine-textured G10, closed spine, minimal jimping, and so forth, but for my use I think the CBBL would be better.

If model Manix 2 LW had been made using T8 Torx instead of rivets it would have been perfect.

The perfect Manix 2…..

Either 3V or 4V, uncoated, ~3mm thick.
Lockback with the dent.
Jimping on the thumb ramp and inside the index choil, but NONE on the handle liners!
Foliage Green G-10 with chamfered edges.
A large pivot (something like a Spartan Harsey) since the ball bearing lock isn’t in the way now.

Just thinking out loud, I love the Manix 2 the way it is, so how about just 3V in Foliage Green G-10?

These are just nit picky except no1 this is important(as I think most people would be content with s30v but want color). Like just saying, you know.

1. Most important if all standard production had colors.
2. If the delica had a choil i would own one again.
3. If the Brouwer came in m390 at same price.
4. Calypso jr. tip up carry wire clip m390
5. D’allara with a cbbl m390
6. Sage 3 bolt blue standard production and open frame
7. Lil native in cbbl
8. OTF auto like a utx-70
9. Gayle Bradley 1 standard production
10. Gayle Bradley air standard production
11. Leaf storm regular production

There’s probably more but for now.

Well done, that would be a perfect Manix

I'd also like to see a comeback of the lockback Manix, but this time with a thinner blade than the 3.7 mm stock it had (so 3.2 like the current Manix or even 3 mm as you propose).

The lockback Manix though had no handle liners at all, but instead "just" super thick G10 scales... and "my" personal ideal should keep that!
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I've never owned the lockback linerless version before, but I honestly think I'd rather have the thinner G-10 with skeletonized liners!

Maybe do something about the finger guard on the Mule Team? The leading edge is just too abrupt and doesn't 'flow' with the rest of the design. Nothing wrong functionally, just aesthetics. I'd actually like about another half inch of handle as long as I'm being a little petty here.

A salty MagnaCut Mantra 2 with phosphor washers would cost a pretty penny but I would buy a couple of them. Throw in some teeth and I would buy 4. JEEZ...........we're talking a grand or so.

All the knives in my collection are one offs. Don't think I have backups of any. For perfection I would make an exception. :winking-tongue

Fair enough, totally personal preference of course!

I had the lock back G10 Manix for a very short time and could also handle linered G10 Manixes (but only owned and own LW variants for longer amounts of time): I must say for me the a bit thicker handle and the smooth G10 of the lockback Manix made for amazing ergos and feel in hand, even better ones than the Manix offers anyway. And the handle was totally rigid, despite having no liners, due to the G10 being really thick.

But again: Very subjective of course!

If the Gayle Bradley 2 had any detent at all to speak of, it would have been perfect.
+1

I make due as I'm not too worried when its clipped to the back of my pocket.

The GB Air on the other hand also had no detent and no clip, so it was scary/uncomfortable to carry in pocket.

The GB Air would have been perfect with a better detent

Well that sucks.. I've admired the Air for some time now. It really does look absolutely perfect in every other respect. Gorgeous, slicey and great blade shape. I'd love to see it reissued with CQI.
