if you haven't tried one, check out the serrated zcut. thin and serrated like the ukpk but with a longer edge.

Thanks for the idea, just now ordered! My "usual" breakfast-prep knife is a PE Z-Cut, but I've been rotating various non-food-prep knives through, just to experience them.

It's Spyderco, as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure there are reasons for the Byrd name, but they're designed by Spyderco, made in China... just like the other value line Spydercos...
