I don't know the answer. But I want one.

Anyone else?

I think it would be doable if Eric and Sal are Ok with a lower height wharncliffe blade profile. It would have to be lower to make sure you could actually hook the Wave. The current model with a wave feature added seems like it would block the wave.

Modifying the current waved Endura to a whancliffe might work, but with the saber grind it would look wonky. Well, to me at least.

I think they could take the current Endura wave and just alter the blade shape. I might be wrong. You could also buy one and grind it into a wharncliffe or sheepsfoot. Would be shorter though!

The problem with a full flat grind and Emerson Wave in combination with a back lock is getting enough mass in the blade to overcome the friction of the lock mechanism for reliable opening. A flat grind wharncliffe doesn't have much mass at the tip. Lowering the spine to gain clearance for the Wave would remove even more mass, making it even less likely to open fully.

You probably meant FFG but the idea of a hollow saber grind wharnie is very interesting. Seems you could make it with a really stout tip if it maintained spine thickness towards the tip.

Exactly this. I waved my Delica wharncliffe and it is far too light to reliably wave fully open. This is why the factory waved Delica/Endura are only offered in saber grind. FFG are too light.

I love my wave but I doubt the sales are there for too many variations.
I won't link the site here but Wisemancompany makes a "Fang". It screws into the Spydie hole and adds the wave. That might be your best solution.

I was definitely thinking saber grind. FFG doesn't seem robust enough.

Is there a name for a saber grind combined with a hollow grind? Is that a silly question?

I would love the wharncliffe edge, with a saber / hollow grind to keep it as thin as possible behind the edge whilst maintaining a reasonable tip.

I have a Wharncliffe Endura wave. It is aftermarket, but it is a Mickey Yurco regrind Endura to look like a Michal Janich style-wharnie and it has a deep carry clip, I love it! It waves quite well, and I am sure will be even better with practice.

What I am wondering is, is it still worth it to get a saber-ground waved Endura?

Hollow saber grind. Most people don't seem to know that anymore. "Saber grind" refers to the height of the primary grind, saber meaning the grind does not go all the way to the spine, leaving a full thickness flat area. The ground portion can be flat, convex or concave.

How much would the regrind cost to add the wave?

Oh, no the regrind is not for the wave, the regrind is to make it shaped like a Ronin-style Wharncliffe. The company that works with Mickey Yurco, who does the regrind, to sell them, is 5x5, who adds their "PickPocket" exotool, which is the wave tool, and their "Recluse" deep carry pocket clip/backspacer.
