Pass on the small one, but I'd buy an XL version.

Hmmm...maybe installing the Spyderco app on my phone wasn't such a great idea. :thinking

Suck it up Tim. you know you like it.

I did not have a Manix in G10 or in CruWear, but now I have both on the way in one knife. Sweet!
This thing sure came out of nowhere like a stealth fighter. No preplanning involved on my part.

Thanks for the heads up. I had to bite. Love my lw manix 2, so I've been wanting to try a G10. I also need some cruwear in my life. Black on black isn't usually my thing, but it'll do.

Ugh. I'll have to pass unfortunately. End of march and i already bought 11 knives. Five of them custom orders. And two damasteel urban knives just a week before. Maybe if it doesn't sell out in two weeks... i might reconsider.

i've been reading a lot about cruwear. i've got knives in d2 that i like and haven't had rust or edge degradation issues with, but they were cheap knives, so i don't worry about them or even carry them as much. if cruwear is indeed an upgrade to d2 and more corrosion resistant, i might actually like it. i saw though that the edge retention is lower than s30v, which i found surprising, considering it's popularity.

I personally, am not a fan of Cruwear...but again, I'm also a high wear resistance snob as well haha. I can say that it sharpens up VERY easily though.

so does 8cr13mov, but i'm not paying $170 for it because it's different from s30v and has gained popularity for being different. i guess i still have some more reading to do.

Should not be surprised. S30V is far better than people think if heat treated properly. It holds an edge quite well, but does not have the toughness of cruwear.

The *wear resistance* of S30V is higher than cruwear at the same hardness, but there are a couple of considerations here: cruwear can be treated to higher hardness than S30V, and also real-world edge degradation is usually due to a combination of both wear and microscopic edge damage, so you might get more edge life out of a steel that has a better mix of hardness/wear resistance/toughness than you will out of a steel that emphasizes wear resistance alone, such as S30V.

I seem to remember Shawn went on at some length about the awesomeness of Cruwear. I can't remember what thread, might have been his YouTube channel for that matter. Regardless I've been looking for the right Cruwear knife to try out for a while and the PM2 wasn't it. This will do nicely.

i was referring to edge degradation due to corrosion, but i get what you're saying.

Thats a good looking knife. Wiped everything down with 99% alchohol. Hit everything with compressed air. Cleaned and oiled the lock and pivot area and lock springs. Then put some oil on the blade, scales, and under the clip and thoroughly wiped it off with a clean microfiber cloth. Really makes the Black blade and handle look nice.

How does the smooth G10 feel? Never felt one finished that way, and I like the standard G10 texture a lot.
