Finally found one I can afford. It's on the way:

Should go nicely with my CruCarta PM2.

Nice! I looked them up and they seem like great knives. Gotta admit some of the slip joints I have seen at $1-4k have been shockingly expensive for me.

Seems these area lot like some of the exclusives/sprints Spyderco offers. MSRP is reasonable but qty is limited so street prices is 2 to 3 times suggested retail. The only thing I'm paying $1-4K for takes bullets! ;)

Nice looking like the scales . I have checking out some slip joints lately , not sure where I am heading , high tech or old patterns . GEC knives are very well built . MG2

There are so many nice, and often pricey, slip joints to select from.

Two inexpensive options I'm quite fond of are the Real Steel Knives Luna and the Artisan Cutlery Biome. The Real Steel being more "Modern" while the Biome is more traditional. I like both of these due to their blade lengths, light weight, nice build quality. Both are small enough to disappear in a pocket. The only comparable Spyderco IMO is the Spy-DK. Another huge favorite of mine.

It is a great knife! I gifted mine to my father in law.

I sold mine of that same one and regret it. Still have my black micarta one. One of the best EDC slip joints. Very stiff backspring on my examples. Cuts great.

I have one of the early ones they made in O1 steel. They also made a lockback version as well as a 2 blade model. I think I have some in orange and glow in the dark green one.

I got into GEC knives back when their stuff would sit on shelves for months. Now their stuff sells out almost the day it is released. I still have a few of their knives. A good chunk of the ones I had I sold at a nice profit.

They're well-made knives and a good deal for the asking price.

I've been trying to get a new GEC release for the longest time. They're sold out as soon as I get the email they're in stock. I got into them in 2016-2017. I could get any one I wanted back then.

I think anyone making slip joints should take note of GEC backsprings and that’s how they should be. Pingo FRN was a favorite but snappy back springs would mean I still had it!
