Is BRG 'reserved' for ZDP? Is Spyderco willing to use it with other blade steels?
I am actually a fan of the BRG color for FRN, and it would be a shame to see it disappear.

Re: What's next for the UKPK, Sal ?
I don’t think so… the British Blades Urban was brg and Elmax. Now the BB forum is defunct and ZDP also appears to be on its way out or at least harder to get, so hopefully we could get a new brg/steel combo for the UKPK.
(I’m fairly steel agnostic at this point, so open to suggestions there.)

Well, take my money. It is no secret that I like the UKPK. I've been carrying one for days and my wife thoughtfully ran it through the washing machine today. It wasn't harmed.
I'm with Radio on the forest green and the navy or dark blue. SPY27 would be a great choice, but so would magnacut. That way, my wife can wash all she wants to.

Damasteel with a higher end scale material would be really nice. Wood or CF or mother of pearl…sal wrote: ↑Sat Mar 19, 2022 1:12 pmHi Marius,
I think that it took a long time for the Slipits in general and the UK in particular to gain in popularity. Certainly longer than I had hoped for. Now it seems to have found a place among the general knife user, so variations are more possible. The LC versions are nice. HH seems to have a good eye on their market. They've got another one in-the-works.
I'd like to get the Damasteel UK in motion. Golden is still backed up, but capacity has been increasing every month. I wouldn't be opposed to a SPY27 version. It's my steel and I'm partial to it. It's been a long time since we've made a Wharncliffe.
I'll watch the thread and see if there is demand? And what might be asked for? Just a bit of distraction

It should be easy to get whatever aftermarket scales you want. I was thinking of making some ironwood burl scales for my Damasteel Urban. But I'm sure that there are plenty of people who would build you custom scales to put on there.

Well, Sal has hinted that the DAMAUKPK project should be a little closer to fruition now, so that should happen sooner rather than later.
From all the polls of the DAMAUKPK, wood and MofP would require bolstering, so a lot more money. Effectively this counted them out then with price, but with world events you would be looking at crazy money.

Is this going to be the standard HH as before? Burgundy G10, full backspacer, S30V Leaf shape?
Or are they changing it up?

UKPK sprint run in a less common tool steel like REX45 or 52100 would be neat.
CTS-204P also doesn't get much love either, so something in that (even though it's the same as 20CV and M390) would be cool as well.

Hi David,
I have an early sample. Yes, I'm biased as its my design, bit I will say that it's very nice. Well made, good walk & talk, safe, attractive and very functional for the UK. I commend HH for their depth of understanding and courage to invest.
The Golden factory did an excellent job and I also commend the one person in the factory in charge of driving the project. He did a good job and his passion for quality is apparent in the end result.

Re: What's next for the UKPK, Sal ?
I'd like to see another rescue version - maybe SE sheepsfoot in LC or magnacut?
EDC Rotation: PITS, Damasteel Urban, Shaman, Ikuchi, Amalgam, CruCarta Shaman, Sage 5 LW, Serrated Caribbean Sheepsfoot CQI, XHP Shaman, M4/Micarta Shaman, 15v Shaman
Fixed Blades: Proficient, Magnacut Mule

Would like to own again: CQI Caribbean Sheepsfoot PE, Watu
Wishlist: Magnacut, Shaman Sprints!

Re: What's next for the UKPK, Sal ?
A PE drop point in MagnaCut would definitely find its way into my pocket on those wet fall/winter days.
Re: What's next for the UKPK, Sal ?
Make sense. Just thinking that damasteel is such a beautiful looking steel that it deserves an equally aesthetic handle.Superfool wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 11:35 amWell, Sal has hinted that the DAMAUKPK project should be a little closer to fruition now, so that should happen sooner rather than later.

Some kind of fun steel that isn't a salt, a color that isn't a salt color and for the sake of my mental stability...please don't be frn!!!!
