Lil’Native slippie, at last
Worth the wait. Thank you, Spyderco.

The walk is smooth as silk and the talk loud and crisp. Perfecto!

That smooth back is so appealing. In for one even if it is wearing an Amish suit.

Very nice! I think I’ll take the clip off mine when I end up getting one. Two solid scales with no cutouts for a lock, it looks like it will be really comfortable clipless.

I'm digging that knife. I have got to get one of those.

Re: Lil’Native slippie, at last
Man, I want one of these. Will probably wait until RGT comes out with some Micarta scales for it. Would love a super wear-resistant steel in this package, maybe like S110V.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Let us know how it cuts. That's what I want to know.

Probably just as great as all the other Lil Natives so far! It’s the same blade geometry after all.

Loud and proud, like Brian said.
As an Urban devotee who is frustrated with Maniago’s early versions, I have been anticipating the Lil’Native slippie. So, first of all, the LNS gives you full control of its pivot. FTW!
The LNS’ blade and cutting edge are only slightly shorter—and its handle is slightly longer and is much thicker—than the original Urban’s. So, right there, I’m well-pleased. Indeed, in my largish hand, the LNS feels less inclined to roll. I think it might be less fatiguing to use hard over time.
But the LNS lacks the notched joint that gives the Urban a reassuring half-way warning of where the blade is when closing. Would have been nice to have on the LNS but its absence is hardly fatal to yet another of Eric’s masterpieces.
More on cutting later…but I imagine Nick is right.

Re: Lil’Native slippie, at last
This is what I am hoping: that it will replace the Urban. Maniago can't seem to make this knife to Spyderco quality standards since the awesome K390 version.wrdwrght wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 10:46 amLoud and proud, like Brian said.

Re: Lil’Native slippie, at last
Man I’ve been waiting on this one forever. I work at a university and can only carry a non-locking blade sub 2.5 inches. So this is my new work knife. Just ordered from SFO.

Re: Lil’Native slippie, at last
I do wish this one had a wire clip though. My only complaint.
Re: Lil’Native slippie, at last
Eric did a very good job on this model.

Re: Lil’Native slippie, at last
i never thought i'd want this knife (nothing against this knife or the urban/ukpk, but i prefer larger knives and locking knives), but i'm traveling to germany for a week and had to leave all my spydercos behind. :\ now, with trips planned throughout new england (including nyc and boston) later this year, i'm thinking i need one of these "legal everywhere" knives.
how does everyone like this one? compared to the urban? might have to get that salt too...

I like my slightly modified one. The action is a little soft in my opinion, but most will like it that way.ladybug93 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 7:47 ami never thought i'd want this knife (nothing against this knife or the urban/ukpk, but i prefer larger knives and locking knives), but i'm traveling to germany for a week and had to leave all my spydercos behind. :\ now, with trips planned throughout new england (including nyc and boston) later this year, i'm thinking i need one of these "legal everywhere" knives.
