Which Dragonfly?
I just bought my first Spyderco this weekend. I got the light green/gray ladybug. It is awesome. But now I want to buy another knife haha. I want the Dragonfly, but I can decide between the classic black frn vg10, dome green vg10, or the Damascus with blue frn from KnifeJoy. The black and dome green both cost about $73…but the Damascus is $89. Not sure if I want to keep it simple or go a little fancy. Any feedback would be appreciated!!
Edit: After reading yalls posts, I think I’m gonna get two that I did not even mention haha. The Dfly Salt SE and K390 wharncliff. Thanks for the help!

Big fan of K390 over here, and the blue is better in person IMO.
All of the ones you mentioned are vg10, so the differences between them are purely cosmetic. Go with the one that suits your tastes. The orange vg10 has been a popular gift from me and everyone seems to love the bright color on such a small knife.
Also check out the Delica if you want something a little more hand filling.

Re: Which Dragonfly?
Get a Wharncliffe now or you will be getting one later. Have several Classic Dflys and the Wharncliffe is the one to rule them all
Re: Which Dragonfly?
The Damascus is an exclusive so it’s now or never.
Also check out the pink s30v. You can rit dye it if you want.

Re: Which Dragonfly?
I bought the cheapest VG10 I could get, and it happened to be the orange one. No matter the color it's just an excellent design. Take what speaks the most to you !
As for a PM steel : There's the S30V pink versions available here and there, and a K390 version (maybe harder to get, you will certainly need to let it some time to restock)

In the collection : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Welcome to the forum!
I'd go with K390. I'd prefer K390 wharncliffe, though.

Re: Which Dragonfly?
The answer to your question is all the dragonflies.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

The Chaparral...

... I have almost no experience with the DFly... all I can say especially (but not only) in such a short edge I´d take SE over PE.

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Re: Which Dragonfly?
I agree with this a ton. I have a SE dfly salt and it works well in the garden. It's out in the dirt right now. My friend has a PE dfly salt and I sharpen it for him every couple weeks.
Re: Which Dragonfly?
"all the Dragonflies" would be a swarm if I'm not mistaken. I'm up to seven of them I think. Starting to feel like a swarm. They're just so darn easy to collect without breaking the bank. I like 'em all and carry them all so I've given up on thinning the herd.

Re: Which Dragonfly?
I have the plain old VG-10, black, and I love it. It gets used a lot, and it can do a lot. Of course I also want a H1 Salt SE, and I still want a Chaparral. Thanks, Wartstein.

salt se was the right choice!

Re: Which Dragonfly?
Nice choices, I really like the dragonfly. I agree the salt se is a great choice, as well as a pe k390. The se h1 dragonfly is great to use around or in water, salt or fresh. My first dragonfly was a se in the 90s and really opened my eyes to how effective and useful a se edge can be. The k390 pe is quite a cutter. There is something special about a littlebigknife that can cut and cut, and then cut some more. While I prefer the standard leaf blade, the wharncliff is appealing.
Re: Which Dragonfly?
The serrated H1 Dragonfly.....is the correct choice. This is the way.
