K390 Endura. Between this and the Manix in SPY27, I am going to have to stop posting here. It is getting to be a little redundant for me.

Did you grind down the spine or is it just the angle?

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
No, no - it's not the angle. I have absolutely "modded it a bit". Yes, I straightened out the original spine profile some to suit my preference, and also did a little at the forward part there where the handle and blade meet(on the bottom), i.e. removed that hang down nub part so that it's basically one smooth transition across the handle into the blade, or vise versa.
Ever since the first Spydie wharncliffe I saw, I thought to myself, "if I ever get one, I'm going to straighten out that hump some." (the tall round spine profile)
I also removed a little metal on the back of the thumb hole too.
When I saw the thread that one of the members posted about sanding the grind lines smooth off the spine of their Rockjumper, I was tempted to post in that thread with what I'd done, but didn't.
Kind of a personal "CQI'd" Rockjumper, of you will...

I think it looks great! I noticed it another time you posted, but I shook it off as the angle.u.w. wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 3:19 pmNo, no - it's not the angle. I have absolutely "modded it a bit". The RJ's Wharncliffe is I guess you would say a traditional take of that blade style where you have a gradual curve from the highest point of the spine down to the tip. Personally, I do not like that traditional look of the wharncliffe. I like the RJs ergos and edge. On the flipside, I think the Yojimbo/Yojumbo style wharncliffe looks great.
You have inspired me. It looks awesome. If I get the courage, I may try to modify mine.
