Anybody not sure of their knife, feel free to shoot me a PM!
I’m still on the fence about the Chief platform. The ergonomics are perfect, it is a real workhorse and an excellent slicer. However, it isn’t very “flicky,” fidgety, or “drop-shutty.” Aren’t those your favorite qualities in a knife? LOL. Sorry bud. I had to go there. :rofl
Hahaha, you just HAD to go there! In defense of the Chief, my 2 variations have broke in nicely. Disengage the lock and give it a shake onto my index finger and easily closed from there. So it's a got a bit of, what I'll just call "fun" to it ;)

I dunno... I can spydie flick mine and they drop shut... Stop the blade with my finger hitting the choil, then snap it closed. It's a different kind of fidgeting compared to a comp lock lol

Guess I will weigh in with more nonsense here and say if you have hands bigger than a raccoon that "fidgety" should be no problem.

Just got mine. Exactly one week to UK. No problems on the border. And no extra charges. Pure win. Fit and finish is as expected - just excellent. Blade is dead centered with even grinds. Interesting enough the scales look like they have a weird patern. The texture of the G10 itself i mean. I can see it just at some specific angle. I tried to snap a pic but the lights at home are not good enough. I'll try tomorrow in broad day light. The action was a bit stiff with the first opening, but a drop of tuff glide and 100 and something open/close actions finally got it butter smooth. All in all i'm very happy with it.

Your post got me curious what the rules are for carrying a hoss like the Chief in the UK, so I tried to look up UK knife laws. Man, what a sad collection of nanny state, pearl clutching laws... UK knife enthusiasts certainly have my sympathy, hopefully someday that nonsense can be rolled back.

On topic, I've been really impressed carrying this knife a few days, it's big but carries great and the excellent ergos make it easy to efficiently use.

The problem with the knife laws is ridiculous. It comes down to street gangs committing crimes with knives. And they found the easy way out - ban all the knives altogether. At the same time you can have a 12in scissors with you. Or grab some big flathead screwdriver. Even a 12in prybar. Instead of educate the youths in school about simple stuff in life and introduce more severe punishment for crimes involving knives, they just banned them. Crime rate didn't go down as you can imagine. But the biggest problem is that the parliament passes bills under the pressure of uneducated society and just forgets about them. No revision whatsoever. It's so bad that there's jokes about it. As far as I know (unless they amended it already) it's completely legal and unpunishable to kill a Scotsman (nothing against them. I used to live in Edinburgh, it's just a law that's few hundred years old) in self defense.... if you shoot him with arrow shot by bow. Yes, it's called United Kingdom.

That's a good problem to have! I almost ended up with that exact same trio until my shot at that Military unexpectedly dropped by. Awesome trio though for sure.

Thanks, buddy!

I do like that Military of yours! I only have the Rex 45 Military, so I’ve been keeping an eye out for a second of some different flavor.

Like an absolute idiot, however, I sold my Cruwear sprint and passed on a KW 204p for $150 a couple of years ago. In my current view on things, my need for the Military would be completely satisfied with those two and my Rex 45.

Ah hahahahaha! Thanks for the warning!

I’ve been around a while without sounding like an idiot, so it’s just my own feelings I was sharing.

Putting a lot of faith in context, for these parts.

Liking this knife a lot, the S90V will likely remain my favorite. But I love the red and black combo.

Cardboard killer. The extra blade length really helps. Excellent factory edge.

Well mine finally arrived in Cincinnati distribution center yesterday. Should be in my hands Monday or Tuesday.
MLK holiday played havoc on timely shipping, but no worries. I have yet to have USPS screw the pooch.
Looking forward to another NC and my first knife in 4V.

Thanks! It’s gone now! A backup will make me more comfortable putting one into heavy rotation with its M4 and REX45 siblings.

Do you get dirty looks there in TN, having that red and black (Alabama) knife? :winking-tongue
