opinions on two non spydercos

#1

Post by Irish Lager »

to start, i know this is the spyderco forum but i trust your opinions so be gentle on me posting the other guys product.

i am looking at getting a swamp rat in the near future. i am thinking the battle rat. i am verry impressed with the warrenty (who wouldnt be) and have read great things from non bias sources. just wanted to know what you all thought.

the second is a ka-bar. i was looking at the TDI and thought about picking one up. seems like a good bang for the buck. i realize its aus 8, but that aside its affordable and small enough to wear on the back of my belt while out in the field as a back up knife for small game hunting/ and light duty hiking. opinions?

thanks,
GS

I Am A Big Fan Of Busse Combat, The Ones I Own Are Incredible. I Have Never Tried A Swamp Rat, But If It Is Half As Good As Its Parent Company Its Got To Be Excellent! Busse Makes Some Fine Knives! So I Would Give It The Thumbs Up.

Really Dont Know Much About The K-bar So No Help There.

I have a Busse BA-E (best fixed blade I have ever had) and I have handled Swamp Rats. The Swamp Rats are made just as well as the Busses just with a little lower cost steel.

TDI is a pretty useful knife you might also want to check out the knives on Southnarc's website...specially the Clinch Pic...Doc

Hi there
Just recieved a TDI, very cool little knife for very little cash. My 81 yr old Mother thought she should have one for her handbag. Should work well in a light duty role and will be easy to sharpen and clean.
