Need to stop watching YouTube shot show coverage, almost did a pre-buy. Amazing how popular the stretch xl is. I'm pretty sure I'm getting 2 just because I can't decide on blade edge.

I think I may wait on this one to get in hand or see it in some hands. I am curious how the handle will feel when choked up using the choil. Behind the handle looks great, but I wonder where your back fingers will land while using the choil. For example, a Manix for me when using the choil just locks into place. The same when not using the choil on the Manix it locks into place. I love the ergos of the Rock Jumper, but it is hard for me to imagine what it would feel like if it had a choil.

Should be during the first quarter of 2022, based on what Spyderco has said about the timing of their reveals.

Same. Looks a great knife, difficult to wait. May have to ignore the glowing VG-10 S-XL reports.

I not knocking the knife by any means , I have a bunch of VG10 steel knives . I would just like a whole package , new knife with a steel I don’t have . What steels that have been suggested later would absolutely work for me . MG2

This is the comparison I keep thinking about. I really like the handle of the Stretch from pictures. It reminds me of my Rock Jumper. But when choking up, I wonder if that middle swell is distracting. The police has that thin handle that probably transitions better with different grips. I'm not speaking from experience. I have only held the Police in store.

This is not a knock on the Stretch XL. This is the most I have been excited about a new model, so I will be getting one. Just curious about the choked up feel.

The VG-10 will be a great entry version. Fine steel. LC200n would add toughness with an easy process to touch up or sharpen. K390 will be the apex destroyer.

The Stretch XL in K390 is exactly what I am waiting for, I could slack off though and get the XL in VG10 and wait for restock on the smaller version . I have plenty of time to decide . MG2

Me not knocking it either. It's just that I have enough VG-10 to last until...well, actually beyond...judgment day. I could supply a small VG-10 warehouse. If Suckerberg wanted to exchange all his money for VG-10, I could cover most of that exchange.

Disappointed it changed to a straight spine like many other spydercos.
The charm in the last stretch was the blade shape.

Totally agree Salty Dog. The drop point yields a more robust tip and would seem to be a good idea with this longer blade and the distal taper that will go with it.

Another reason I'm waiting out the VG-10, which has (surprising, to me) low toughness, which fine tips want and need. I like a tougher steel for a knife that has a long, thin, acute tip.

Agreed 100%. I’m buying at least two in VG10, and most likely one in each steel variant beyond that.

Oh, and one for this forum’s favourite Austrian!
