IMO Payton and McCarthy are the same person. Both wasted their hall of fame qb's career. Only 1 ring each. Pretty sad.

I still think Payton is a better manager, coordinator & coach...it seems like McCarthy just rode Favre & Rodgers.

Teamed up with Will McClay's scouting department, I would be more optimistic with Payton. Right now, it's just a cluster---- they are guessing for answers, assistant coaches & coordinators without actually getting any better. The talent gets brought into the organization and then just allowed to run-free and play at the Star.

Payton wouldn't allow any BS, at least from those under him.

The Cowboys just seem lost and disorganized with lots of glitz and talent. Bring in Payton and invest in the O-Line.
So it goes.

Do you not remember Payton as the assistant head coach at Dallas? Parcells, Payton, and Zimmer all at the same time... Didn't do jack for the team. Blame Jerry if you want but those coaches did nothing for the Cowboys as far as controling divas on the team. Will McClay is the best thing that ever happened to the Cowboys post Jimmy IMO. Been drafting great ever since he's been involved.

I'm going to have to believe that he wasn't allowed to run the show and call the shots under Parcells, plus that he has grown and learned in the last 16 years. Sean Payton is a top 4 head coach in the NFL. Mike McCarthy is middle tier, good enough to be employed, but doesn't really get anyone closer to a championship.

ETA: I think Drew Brees would give a ton of credit to Sean Payton for his career. I don't think Favre or Rodgers even considers McCarthy when looking back at theirs.
So it goes.

1 ring each... That's all that matters.

I mean seriously, it is so hard to win a Superbowl let alone multiples. Mike Tomlin. Pete Carroll, and John Harbaugh only have 1 ring each....My point is, if you aren't Bill Belichick, you are just another guy. All the other multi-superbowl winning coaches are dead or retired. The salary cap ruined all the fun unless you're a Patriots fan lol

I hope he doesn't come back to the Cowboys
I just heard on one of our local sports radio stations that Payton would have to wait till 2023 before he could even accept the Cowboys HC job >> because of his contractual agreements he still has with New Orleans Saints.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I'm beginning to believe that the plan is already laid out and as soon as it can happen I do believe that Payton will be the HC for the Cowboys. I think the plan is already laid out behind the scenes. Actually I'm surprised that Jerry Jones hasn't fired McCarthy already. However he didn't fire Jason Garrett immediately but everyone involved knew the writing was on the wall for Garrett and I believe McCarthy's fate is already sealed as well.

I tend to agree with everything you just said>> because McCarthy had the luxury of having Aaron Rogers for his QB as long as he did and he didn't really accomplish nearly what he should have accomplished in his tenure with the Packers.

Also I always suspected that McCarthy and Brett Favre didn't have that great of a rapport with each other. Because when Favre finally jumped ship it appeared like McCarthy was glad to see him gone.

From my understanding, if he comes back without taking a year off, the Saints would be entitled to compensation in the form of a draft pick. A team would need to trade for him...
So it goes.

Yeah he's under contract thru 2024 as I understand it.
Rumor is Fox wants him to replace Aikman if Aikman bolts for Amazon.
My opinion, is he would be perfect for the N.Y. Giants.

Reason I think he would be good for N.Y. is because with Payton, ( at least I think anyways ) there's no doubt as to who's running the show.
And, maybe it's just me but, the Giants have thrived with Ultra Alpha Coaches if you will.
Parcells- LT was the only player that could get away with things that any other player could not. But, that's LT and, that's just that lol. Other than that there was never any doubt who ran the show in NY when Parcells was coach. Then Coughlin, a good disciplinarian who always stayed the course.
Times change however, but I feel Payton could definitely be that guy in New York.

Wow. Kansas City fans are a class act.
They just raised a little over 255k for the Buffalo Children's Hospital.
They knew the City of Buffalo are hurting. So they wanted to and did something to brighten their day.
Said they were inspired by the Bills Mafia tradition of giving back to other teams.
Bills Mafia once raised more than 442kfor Andy Daltons Charity.
Just last year Bills Mafia donated to Lamar Jackson's Charity.
The Kansas City Chiefs Fan Base & Bills Mafia are great outfits.
Especially Bills Mafia. They've been doing this for a while now.

Well gang, anyone wanna make a prediction as to whether TB12 will retire or play yet another season.
I think he'll be back for one more season.
But, I also think he'll announce it to be his last season as well.

I just hope that if he retires he eventually becomes a GM or owner. I don't think he can stay away from the game and I think he would be a psycho as a coach lol

Hahah, I bet he knows he couldn't possibly be a coach. That would be a trip to see him on the sidelines while his team got stupid penalties!
