Didn't think that creating a thread for this is necessary, so I'll ask here :

Does anyone know if there is a coating of some sort on the GB2's clip ? It seems different than the black N5 LW or black Seki clips.

It will age more gracefully, other clips have a more chipping paint/coatings.

Don't see many teal Native's around here, and this pair called for a utilitarian post.

Spyderco's prices (per Reveal 9) are indeed becoming unsettling...

The perceived value just isn't there in some of these models. They have been running ahead of inflation for years and now the world is in crisis mode and real inflation is just starting to hit the homeland, they are pricing themselves out of value.

If the increases were every couple of years or just as needed it wouldn't be as jarring but this Reveal brought several puzzling price points.
So it goes.

Spyderco is moving upmarket. Smaller runs, higher prices, higher profits. It is survival in a market dominated by an eastern entity that has swamped the low and middle market.

Man, that's a great pair. I need to get myself a Native Chief.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

They are both fantastic, and I currently only have one of each...I think I prefer the overall package of the Chief, but they are both worthy of being in every Spydie collection.

Sorry, it wasn't meant to be political, exactly. Politics poisons all, of course. It was meant to point out that Spyderco has to swim hard against the current to maintain domestic production and production in other regions. All other producers are fighting against the same current to keep their domestic production running, as well.

Does Shawn (DBH/BBB) have two models coming or is the 15V Mule Team his anticipated collaboration?

What are you personally waiting to see from Spyderco, that they have given no indication of entertaining?

M4 / green canvas micarta Street Beat, a 4V St. Nicks Military, and a Chief Salt would all be day one purchases for me.
