Forum Knife?
I don't think I'd buy a regular Centofante, but if I can get a cool one... I like the idea of a solid color handle - maybe a bright-dark green? LOL. I want a dark color, but one that isn't so dark it looks black. I want a GREEN handle that actually looks green! A light blue would be good, too. And laser etching... Don't know about user names(although if I had a cool one like Ferret I would want it), but something more general like the Spydernut line earlier in the thread.
Yep, a green or blue Spydernut Centofante Jr. would be good.

It is my understanding that the pearl is not plastic but is real pearl shell laminated to the G10. I chose it because it would make the knife look more like Frank Centofante's custom knives which use a similar blade. Frank's G10 "tactical" knives have a different blade shape. The C25 is such an elegant design I felt it would look better with a more traditional and classy finish.
As for the engraving, I had in mind something which would identify the knife with this forum. Something like "Spyderco Forum, 2000".
I've got to say that coloured G10 doesn't do much for me, but then I've already got a blue G10 BladeForums Native . Sal already has a prototype Centofante Jr with the pearl scales. I wonder if there is any way we can get a scan of it.

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow, in Australia it's tomorrow already.

Can't let this thread fall too far down the listing
Is the Centofante a done deal, or are we still talkin'? How's about pieces out of the first run of Lum Chinese Folders? Or of the first run Vesuvius?
I'd do cartwheels to get either one of those, and me trying to do cartwheels is NOT a pretty sight

Paani,
I'm not sure that we have enough interest to make the Centofante a goer. Have to ask Sal. I'd be interested in a specially engraved Chinese Folder or Vesuvius but it wouldn't be as "collectable" as a special edition forum knife.

Guys, since most of us had agreed at one point on the centafonte being the official forum knife, I personally think that the blade should be given a royal treatment like having it presented in a fleece-lined wooden box. This will make me very proud to own one...

MY idea for a forum knife special edition:
Damascus, blade etching with scantily clad women AND wild animals (tigers, etc), a Military Jr/ Gunting/ Civilian hybrid with a double sheath - one side FINE CORINTHIAN LEATHER the other Mike Sastre Kydex. The second compartment would hold a Matriarch TIE CLIP numbered of course to match the big knife - the MILGUNIAN we'll call it. HANDLE: MOP inserts layered with carbon fiber, cocobola wood and gold around the opening hole. Maybe some semi precious stones some where. The knife will need to be engraved with Mr. Glesser's signature as well as a HAND SIGNED signature on the sheath and certificate of authenticity!!! For UNDER oh say $80 US
