My 2021 KOTY: Phoenix sprint run

That looks really awesome with the scales dyed black! Nicely done!

I’m not usually one for modding my knives but I’ve been considering sending the titanium frame from a Phoenix sprint to someone for a gold/bronze anodizing. I think it would contrast nicely with the red scales.

Maxamet Monday for me today!

Thank you Mushroom! I’m right there with you on the anodizing. My OG plan was to do the Ti slabs blackened and then acid wash the blade. I just don’t feel comfy doing the whole torch and wd40 thing to these slabs. Too risky for my limited experience.

I think a gold/bronze and red would look very classy and “top-shelf”.

Black G10 looks better to me for those Phoenix scales.

So weird how all those trees look to be exactly the same height, like they've been trimmed at the top.

Also weird that I never noticed that myself ,until now that you said it - though I run up that hill quite often, for up there are nice knife throwing spots with a lot of dead trees and stumps.
No idea why this is (same height of the trees). Perhaps trees on that slope where once cut down all at the same time, and then the current ones started growing at the same time?!
Still this can´t fully explain it, perhaps it has something to do with that a tree being significantly taller than the others would be too much exposed to the wind?

day after christmas and it's 76F on top of the mountain

Very nice pic!

And this mountain top already feels somehow familiar to me from your pics ;)
You go there quite often, right?!
Yep, I'm there usually 1-2 times a week for runs. It's the closest mountain, though I can get to some more serious elevation if I'm willing to drive further.

I got some really nice no knife photos while I was up there. Been thinking about making a nature photos thread in off topic for pictures like that. I'm sure you'd have some amazing scenery to contribute too!
