I like it! Kinda reminds me of a series of action figures I loved back in the late 90's. Transformers Beast Wars Transmetal 1 & 2 if anyone remembers those.

Haha fellow BW collector here! does it remind you of Quickstrike? Technically it's not a Transmetal but a Fuzor, but the translucent yellow definitely reminds me of him!
I hoped and suspected there'd be a fellow Transformer aficionado on this forum! But even within that group, BW people are less common. Yeah, the Fuzor line up definitely had more translucent stuff going on. I was just thinking of the translucent "Spark Crystal" things they introduced with the Transmetals. Quickstrike is way more spot on! Makes me wish for a whole line up of translucent BW-inspired FRCP. Lavender ala Manterror? Red like Injector? It would be pretty sweet.

Haha, now you're speaking my language! Grew up watching GeeWun in the 80's, but really only started collecting in the BW line, mostly Maximals, ever since I fell in love with the 90'S BW show and its deep storyline compared to G1. My TF collecting definitely tapered down these past recent years as knives took over. But I still do buy from time to time when I see something I like (and the recent G1 homages really are good stuff).

Oooh those FRCP BW crossovers you mentioned are sweet! The Manix LW would really make a perfect homage to Injector since the curves on the Manix eerily resembles the bulbous fish head/hornet Predacon.

Sorry, off topic...
Hah, there's nothin like G1. I'm somewhat ashamed to admit I've been seriously considering buying that controversial Arcee homage by Firebird. Now we really are off topic. We really are in the non-knife weeds now. For the sake of getting back on track, yeah I really do hope Spyderco pursues more translucent FRCP. Maybe even some vacuum-metalized paint on the polymer handled models. It would wear pretty interestingly.

i'm so glad my thread about a manix (remember spyderco?) could bring you all together on transformers.
🤣

as long as there's a g10 magnacut manix, i don't really care what color lw is made. i really think the translucent handles are ugly, especially in yellow, but i'm just one person. sure, it might look cool on vintage toys, but that's not how i want a knife to look, personally.

+1 Magnacut Manix (will take any flavor - I’m guessing it’s a salt)

+1 Transformers, He-man, Thundercats.

As long as it's G10 and not some pastel colored handle, I'm in to give it a try.

The Manix 2 is the Goldilocks of all Spyderco's, but recently I've been wanting more edge. The Manix 2 XL is a little pudgy. Maybe Sal and Eric need to put their heads together and invent a Manix 3, with the length of an XL, the narrowness of an Endura, all the while maintaining the CBBL. Yup, the new Manix 3 Magnacut. That's what we need.

Been a SpydieHead for a long time, yet to purchase a Manix. MagnaCut Manix sounds just about right for my first one :)

I dont care if the steel is unobtanium, a CBB lock Manix would be a hard pass.
The spring is too tight for one finger release and that's a deal breaker with my arthritic hands.
Backlock it, and I'm all in. Love the blade shape and handle (but not the pinned translucent scales of the LW)

Please give us a Manix 2 (LW or G-10) in Magnacut! Screws would be very nice, along with blue locative - not red thank you. A titanium cage would get me to spare no expense!
My Maxamet Manix 2 LW has found its way into full time service but from what we’ve been told, the Magnacut could replace it because the Maxamet takes a lot of care in our salty humid air.

Please!

They also made a linerless backlock G10 Manix 2 briefly, Apr. 2017-Oct. 2018. I've never handled the linerless Native 5, but the Manix seemed a little thicker in hand than I like, maybe to make up for the missing liners, so I passed on it at the time. It was very popular with some backlock lovers, but soon discontinued. I'd definitely buy one if it were re-released in Magnacut.
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

there are days i wish i had bought one. honestly, i thought it would stick around. i didn't hate it, but i did think it was too thick and preferred the standard manix. i'd take one in magnacut if they rereleased it.

MagnaCut everything.

Actually the potential for getting a mostly Salt-ish Manix LW may be getting very close now with this. It'll depend on the rest of the hardware and obviously if they use yellow.

Also, Voltron > Transformers.

Also, M.A.S.K. > GIJOE
