I’m shocked the weight is half an ounce less than the base model g10. And the price doesn’t seem too bad.

I like designs with aluminum when it means less liner so either less weight, thinner scales, or nice curves. For an exclusive I'm guessing they didn't mess changing the liners, and we already heard it's still flat scales. I'm out if it's just the slabs changed to aluminum, but almost definitely in if more than that.
In the listing on BHQ, it says "Because of the linerless construction of this knife, it is not compatible with many aftermarket accessories"

That tells me maybe they did change the liners.

This is a great idea imo. Durable metal scales that are lw and different, excellent budget steel and still made in USA for under 150. A wider market will now be able to experience this classic design, in 3 colors too.

And the linerless aluminum will make it similar to the standard 940, very cool.

i wonder if this design is a precursor to a linerless frn lw pm2 and pm2 lw salt.

Glad to see they went with multiple color options and that they released them all at once. They're priced well too. I'm sure we'll see some very creative custom anodizing work on these at some point.

I really like the purple. I would love to see some cool color fades or splashes, like a red to yellow (Tequila Sunrise) or blue to green. The possibilities are endless.

I think I'd get one and strip the anodizing off and polish the aluminum and make myself a ghetto fluted-ish Para 2.
It would very difficult to polish the texture after stripping the anodizing. The aluminum will oxidize when its raw and getting into that texture to hand polish would be incredibly tedious, if it's possible at all.

Wow, the price on these actually seems quite reasonable.. very tempting. What’s the over-under on their website crashing?

On a side note, as a photographer, the moire patterns on the low-res web photos I think is what caused our initial confusion and speculation about the scales being rounded/contoured. #casesolved

While I don't doubt that there is a bit of a moire effect happening with the photos, that pattern we're seeing that makes it look contoured is actually a result of the machined texture and will be visible in person.

Hopefully these won't have the centering issues that plague the linerless Para 3 LW.

Does anyone (perhaps someone with one of the copper/REX45 versions) know how the lock is constructed in a linerless PM2? Will the scale just be milled out to accommodate a leaf/bar like in the Para 3 LW?

Thanks

No, just a regular color anodization. (Type II)
