The chief is already XL. Anything bigger is Cold Steel territory.

I do like big knives and occasionally carry my K2 but it is a little over the top. I might buy one for the novelty but I would rather see a 3.5 inch Native/Chief.

I love the Chief, but I'd rather have a Shaman XL!

I'd rather see something between the Chief and the 5 in the Native family.

I would not find a Native Chief XL compelling, unlike the model Sal thought we should have.

Where do i sign in? Being a man with somewhat big palms i feel very comfortable using my K2, Maxace Goliath 2.0 and others. I guess it really depends on preference and how big your hands are.

it's all about perspective. my palms are wider than a delica handle is long, so the chief, military, manix "xl" and police feel like regular sized knives to me.

my only cold steel folders are bigger than the knives I listed. i'd like to see more competition in that area, but to be fair I can't imagine they're hot sellers for Spyderco.

The existing Chief is already about as XL as I ever think about carrying. Even as is, it usually ends up being too big for me to carry with much frequency..

I like larger knives, the Native Chief, K2 & Police 4 are among my favorite models, but going to 5 inches on a Chief seems rather pointless, no thanks. The Native Chief is pretty much perfect the way it is IMO.

No.

I'd have to upgrade all my pockets for size.

Nah, the Military, Endura/Pac Salt, and upcoming Straight Spine Stretch XL have my big folder needs more than covered. Anything larger than that I am going with a fixed blade. I would rather see the models I mentioned have expanded offerings in Cruwear, 3V, AEB-L, 52100, and MagnaCut as well as Micarta versions in any of these steels.

To be honest, no. The Chief os already very long in hand while having handle that borders too thin. And the only purpose of the finger choil is to protect you from cutting yourself when closing the knife. The XL version should really find a way to drop the finger choil and gain that 1/2” of cutting edge. Just my personal opinion.

I'd just be happy to own a regular Chief in Magnacut.

😜

For myself, a 4.5" to 5" bladed folder of any type would be too big for something I'd actually carry. The size of the handle alone in the closed position would be a bit much for me. At about 5", I start preferring a fixed blade.

But if others want an XL Chief, I'm all for it to be made.

Yes! In no way would I want to slow the progress of Native Chief releases, especially one in Magnacut, S110V, ....

Just looking for an S30V version of a Native Chief XL for now.

If I was a multimillionaire I ask @Sal make me a few mockups in various steels, pay him for his troubles, and I'd be done with it. But the Native Chief is of a high design, belongs in design magazines, it's a Porsche Carrera in it's simplicity and sleek arc that travels from tip to tail.

I think quite a few would be sold, certainly more than 500.
