That explains it too me. I think I lucked out with the canvas Micarta on my fixed blade. It does feel like a good balance of smooth but grippy. Thanks for the info!kennethsime wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 4:22 pmCanvas is my favorite for fixed blades, but linen is quite nice too. Basically, the three common ones are Burlap, Canvas, and Linen. Burlap is very corse, linen is very fine, and Canvas is somewhere in the middle. Sometimes you'll find Denim micarta too, which I think is in between canvas and linen.
I have green canvas micarta on my Stretch today, and green linen micarta on my Swiss army knife.
The fixed blade on the left is Green Canvas also, with a more polished finish.

Good morning everyone !
I ordered for the first time on the Spyderco website, and I was wondering if it is possible to access a summary of our orders on the website? When I connect, I can only seem to acces my cart.
Thanks in advance spydieople

No order summaries on spyderco.com. It would be nice though.

Thank you for the answer ! I was afraid that there was a problem since my CC hasn't been charged yet ^^. But I just read somewhere else that Spyderco only charges the CC when they ship the products.Buddafucco wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 4:52 am

That's correct... Charged when shipped. I haven't been charged for my Mules yet... It still shows as pending on my card.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
Perhaps this has been brought up elsewhere, but do you think that people may feel a bit "let down" by Magnacut? I can't think of a steel that has gotten more hype lately. To be sure, there will be people who push the steel to its limits; they will like it just fine. But somebody like myself? I stand at a desk all day clacking on a keyboard. Just curious if there has ever been a deflationary period after so much hype.
Never mind, I just saw a whole thread discussing this.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
I recently bought a smock on eBay. It was labeled as new unused. I went to go take it apart and clean/lube and notice there was no second detent or little hole for it to fit in. Was the smock ever produced without the second detent?
Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
I believe the first gen was like that, hopefully someone else will chime in for you that 100 percent knows
Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
For one, I love your user name. I used to LOVE me some Global Guts as a kid!!
I have a Smock from the original release a few years ago, it definitely has two detent balls (one of which is very easy to lose during disassembly if you're not careful)

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
Thanks! I loved that show too. So do you think I could have purchased a fake smock?
Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
I wouldn't say fake, but maybe one that's been tampered with by a previous owner

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
So, I guess Magnacut is going to be the pathway to the Salt line for the Millie, PM2, Native Chief etc...?
So it goes.
Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
If not a legitimate Salt model, it'll be really close. It'll come down to how corrosion resistant the rest of the hardware is.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
Yellow, liners and hardware seem like too easy a step to not bring them into the salt line. I'm not assuming that the regular run of the knives in Magnacut will qualify, just that if they were going to get a run in the salt line, it could be in the works now.
So it goes.
Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
If DLC coating helped to keep the other Salt model hardware from rusting, you could blade swap a DLC Military with a MagnaCut blade and there ya go, everything but the yellow scales.

Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
If not pathway, maybe gateway.
Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
I wonder if all the Magnacut Salt models will be yellow or if a new color will be chosen? H1 gets yellow FRN, LC200N gets lime green FRN, Magnacut gets what color FRN? For sake of consistency, I’m guessing Spyderco would want it to be another hi-viz color?
Re: Random: General Spydie Chat
UKPK Yellow LC200N & Native Salt Yellow LC200N/Magnacut
I don't know that there is consistency in steel/color anymore, I know Sal said that was the original intent, but it seems Eric had other plans.
So it goes.
