Compression Lock Texturing?
Compression Lock Texturing?
Just wondering if I am the only one who feels that the release lever on the compression lock mechanism would benefit from having some texture applied to it. By machining some jimping or some knurling on that smooth metal surface, the user would gain better finger purchase on the lever. Anyone else?

Seems like it's worth a try with a dremel.
Might be the opposite direction, but I really like the chamfered tab on the Sage5.

I suppose it would help a little, but Not much.
All Of my comp locks are very easy use.

I've used skateboard tape on mine many times. It definitely helps on some knives that have smaller access cutouts where you don't get much of your finger onto the tab.

The shaman has "jimping" on the top of the tab but its not very aggressive, which is probably for the better.

I agree that it ought not be too aggressive. I do not have any problems manipulating the tab on my PM2. The feel of the jimping on the liner lock of my Millie I like. Its that tiny little brain impulse when you feel the texture that inspires that sense of confidence when your eyes are focused elsewhere. You know in that instant that your finger is where you want it which signals the nexts brain check: insure all other remaining fingers NOT in blade path!VooDooChild wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 10:30 amThe shaman has "jimping" on the top of the tab but its not very aggressive, which is probably for the better.
