Re: Seconds sale
Will anyone be taking proxy orders when they go to the sale this year? I have a very short list of knives I'd like to get, 2 exactly.

All I'm looking for is a couple of Mules, won't be broken hearted if I don't find them. Shoot me a p.m. and I'll see what I can do.

I think it did stay above freezing one year, but I've seen freezing rain and snow as well, and more often.FreeGolf wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 10:23 am
Good! We don't need anymore flatlanders here in Golden anywaysColorado sees over 300 days of sun but im totally cool with everyone thinking it is Siberia in the winters.
Weather hasn't even dropped below 30's yet overnight in Golden and we are going to see mid to lower 70's here this weekend. It has been gorgeous and looks like it should be for the second sale. Mid 30's over night and mid 50's during the day. Sign me up. Still plenty of time for something to blow in though, so no guarantees.
Hope all the positive people have fun! The in-person second sale has always been a blast. Regardless of weather.
Re: Seconds sale
It's been unseasonably warm lately, you know this will change the day of the sale, right? Just the way things work!

Re: Seconds sale
I, too, would appreciate a proxy buyer - I’m only interested in a couple SKUs.

Really wish I could visit, but it's almost 7000 miles away and on the other side of the Atlantic
Re: Seconds sale
So are there anymore details on it yet? The original post on FB said more details to follow.

Re: Seconds sale
Knives that fail quality control inpection for some reason are not simply destroyed or recycled. If the problem that caused them to be rejected is minor and doesn't affect the safe functioning of the knife, it gets marked as "second" with a small notch near the hole and set aside. Once a year, the Factory Outlet Store holds a sale where all those knives are sold to the public with no box or warranty, but at deeply discounted prices. There are thousands of pieces to choose from, and customers can examine them to find ones with defects that they can accept.
People go early to claim a place in line in order to get first pick, at least in theory. Really we go early to hang out and party, since the crew keeps bringing out trays of fresh stock all day, so you may find things late in the day that weren't out when the early birds were shopping.

Re: Seconds sale
Lol I’m not in line quite yet!
Re: Seconds sale
Here’s what the stock looks like if you’ve never been to a Seconds Sale. All of those cardboard trays start out full.
(Then yablanowitz gets there...)
Re: Seconds sale
My 15 y/o son and I are planning a 10 hour one way trip to check it out. We plan to do some sightseeing as well. Ought to be a memorable event.
Re: Seconds sale
Does anyone know what year the first second sale was?
