For the S90v. Pre CQI can be seen as good or better. Most of the CQI changes were to make it more efficient to produce.

A great pre CQI Military can be a fantastic military. Like the CPM Cruwear.

I have four pre CQI Military knives in my collection, they are not as crisp to open/close as the newer CQI models. The CQI design is just smoother to operate, is it a deal breaker,,,, not at all, the older Cruwear, CTS-XPH and CPM 440V blades work fine. They have to be operated side by side to tell the small difference.

Regards,
FK

I initially passed on this one because of the blue scales. Now I regret it. If it comes back in stock at my favorite retailer, I'll sell another knife to make room. Then it will be a question of dying the scales or trying to find an aftermarket alternative.

Just bumping this thread because it's looking like a batch of S110v Military are starting to hit dealers. There haven't been any around for quite a while.

Adventuron (nice price)... https://aventuron.com/collections/knive ... -cpm-s110v

BearClaw... https://www.bcknife.com/0776-spyderco-m ... pm-s1.html

DLTtrading... https://www.dlttrading.com/spyderco-mil ... 110v-blade

Edit: added another dealer

Thanks for the heads up. DLT has them also. Been watching for one of these for a long while! My blurple collection will now be complete, to my satisfaction anyway.

I prefer the partial backspacer in the pre-CQI Militaries to the fully open back construction in the CQI versions. I like the extra surface area in hard cuts. That being said, the CQI versions dominate my collection of Militaries. Definitely not a show stopper for me.

That is an excellent piece indeed, it didn't sell out at 279.99$, I was fortunate to buy one when they were on sale at 200$. Now a regular G10 S30V Military is 217$, so something like this would be 350-400$$ if they would make one?
