Mine should arrive Wednesday, & I am beyond excited!!
I have never owned a flipper style knife, so this will be a new experience for me.

I've got one on the way and also a set of black carbon fiber scales, so that I'll have an "all-black" Smock.

Hmm...good idea. Until I find the exact scales I want I think I'll put the smooth black g10 ones from my other Smock on this one.

Delivered a day early! Decided to get some SDK lava CF scales but those aren't here yet.

Jealousy is a curse ! :-(
I will have to wait 2 weeks (plus?) for mine !
But what you have in hand is what I had planned on 2 weeks back.

I tell ya, I haven't seen a knife that doesn't look good all blacked out. I don't much care for this model but that looks outstanding.

So a little embarrassed, I just put new scales on but managed to lose the spring for the 2nd detent😬. Any way to get a replacement?

These are the reason for my loss...

Question for Sal, or anybody who has an original smock to compare with. Did the design change in this with the 2nd detent? I found my spring and put it all back together but now I'm not sure if I somehow did it wrong?
I had an original smock that I sold after I bought this one. With that one I couldn't open it by just holding the button, and I feel like the detent ball and spring installed differently on that one. With my new one I can still open it using just the button.

So, did something change or did I somehow put it back together wrong?

And fyi, these lava scales are better than I thought they'd be. They change color depending on the light and they also aren't as slick as some other types of smooth CF scans I've had in the past.

Glad you found your spring. I don't have a piece from the initial run in S30V, but can confirm that my M390 and M4 DLC Smocks both open if the button is depressed (given a small shake/wrist flick).

Yep, they are. But I found some laser engraved ones that I swapped onto it a few days ago. Will post pics...

Same. I've had the s30v model, the 20cv, and this m4 - all could be opened by pressing the button and kinda swinging open. Just like with an axis lock.
