Mine is on the way from knifeworks. They actually had a few in stock but didn't realize there was an issue with their system. I called them and found out.

Got one.

Like I said on another sub-forum this one has a patina that appeared much faster than any of my other K390 blades.

Mine came today from GandR. It had some mold green colored grease coating the blade. First time I've seen that. It must be working though because, even after tightening the loose pivot, the action is still super smooth.
It's my first Stretch and it feels good so I'm excited to carry it tomorrow! :spyder:

Very similar dimensions to the Endela. Stretch 2 K390 (top), Endela K390 (bottom):

What the specs don’t tell you that the pictures does is the maximum width when closed. Endela is slimmer in the pocket.

I want to try the Stretch 2. Problem isn’t prefer shallow choils like t he Stretch 1 or the Gayle Bradley. Not a fan of deep choils. I keep toying with grabbing the Stretch 2 in ZDP-189. I do like the wider handle toward the rear.

Having owned both, I really don't notice the difference between the Stretch 1 and the Stretch 2. Get one. If you really don't like it, there are many forums for selling or trading it away.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Interesting…I never noticed that the Endela has jimping on the scales, but the Stretch doesn’t.

Having owned both, I really don't notice the difference between the Stretch 1 and the Stretch 2. ....
Actually I do notice that difference:

- Shallower, shorter choil on the "1": Gives me more control when choking up, places the hand closer to the edge when not choking up.
- More pronounced "hook" at the rear of the handle on the "1": Really brackets my hand nicely in the handle, great for pull cuts (But: Will make the grip area a bit short for really huge hands. The grip area of the "1" is almost exactly the same as on Manix and PM2, the Stretch 2 offers more)
- More cutting edge on the "1": Yes, just 6mm / about 8 % more. But absolutely seen that's the difference between the Para 3 and the Manix, and I actually do notice it. Makes the Stretch 1 more versatile.
- And all of this in a shorter, lighter package that the Stretch 1 offers...
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Thanks for the pics! I am pondering a k390 knife and since PM2 in k390 is now impossible to find, Endela and Stretch are the 2 most relevant options for me.

Wartstein,

My HAP40 Stretch 1 is keeping the pocket space waiting for the K390 warm ;)

Hope you'll let us know how they compare for you!
(And to be clear: The Stretch 2 is a great model, and if there was no "1" I' d certainly own some "2". But I like the "1" just even better).

Well, I love this knife. I've been carrying it every day for just over a week and prefer the handle over both my endura and delica. I understand the original design's tip was better suited to skinning and potentially tip strength, but I like this blade design more. I also prefer the blade shape and handle of the SS Stretch over the pm2, but the pm2 has the compression lock appeal. I keep the K390 oiled and it does NOT disappoint. The only question remaining is whether or not to let the pocket clip wear on its own or to polish it to match the blade....
