That really is the best looking manix2 ever made. I should have gotten one when I had the chance lol
It really is, I'm surprised it was never all that popular. I bet it if it dropped these days, it would be a bit different. Though I did upgrade the look with the better steel, in my opinion

The CS Shaman wasn't really in my pocket, because it doesn't work in gym shorts, haha. But, the DF2 is obviously perfect for gym short carry in the summer. I was out in the garage yesterday morning and had them both with me!

Did my second century ride yesterday (100 miles for those who haven't heard of that) and took the Native Salt along for the journey. Good for many hours in a very sweaty pocket.
Congrats on the century! :)

I like you lock -- very resourceful. It seems there's a fair amount of cyclists on this forum. Last summer me and my buddies took a 3 day camping trip riding our bikes on the GAP and the C&O. Its good fun.

Thanks :) I'm just too cheap to buy a new one.
I'm far from being a "serious" cyclist, but I love riding. I don't recall seeing a cycling thread in off-topic, but we may need one.

Sounds like a good time! I'm way too out of shape for something like that, but I'm working on it.
You can go at your own pace. The first day it might be hard to get used to. You can easily lose 3000 or more calories from a day of cycling.

Thanks. Second one I've done so far. (Last one was 2019)

Now we just need a Grey G-10 Manix 2 in Maxamet.

After work I’ll be switching to something a little lighter with this record heat in the PNW. Good day for the Cruwear Dragonfly.

Man, you guys are making me want to go out for one. I used to do at least a few each year. I think I did a century on my last tour in September 2020 but I haven't checked.

One century a year sounds good enough to me. I was going to do one solo last year but never got around to it. For the most part I keep rides to under 50 miles. More enjoyable that way, for me.

Very hot and humid day for M4, I just couldn't resist this one today though. Hopefully the light coating of mineral oil did the trick.

I was tempted to carry mine today but I think I'm sticking with this guy until August:

I've really been enjoying how it cuts.

No joke, this knife with a coarse edge has shown better edge holding than my M4 Chief did sharpened on the white rods.

Cool that you're giving the PE H1 this treatment. I've never experienced it myself, buy have had no desire for it because of what I've always read about edge holding...or lack there of.

I too, have experienced a change of heart in a steel normally not held too high in edge holding (52100). Granted it doesn't hold an edge like my favorites, but after reprofiling to 15dps and leaving it on a 320 grit finish...it seems to perform MUCH better than before.
