*New Pictures a few posts down*
I was cleaning my Benshot glass this morning and I noticed some faint rust/discoloration of the LC200N Blade. The part of the blade that is in the epoxy or what ever it is that holds the blade in place. Maybe some moisture got trapped in there through washing or condensation.
Anyone else who owns one of these glasses notice anything similar?
I'll try to take some pics later, not sure if you'll be able to see much on camera.

I just took a look at mine and it looks fine. I wouldn't expect LC200N would rust, I wonder if it's the epoxy that's yellowing or "aging?"

Could be the epoxy.

If I get it at just the right angle it does look like the epoxy is a little orange/light brown at the thick edge but I never noticed it til I looked after seeing this thread. Is this what yours looks like?

If it is epoxy then it is probably that.
Pretty much all epoxy, even very high end stuff, and even marine grade boat and surfboard epoxy with high levels of U.V. inhibitors, still yellow with time and especially U.V. exposure.
If you want anything with epoxy to last keep it out of the sun.
While vinylester (usually allready off color), polyester (high end stuff can be good at staying clear), and other glues/adhesives/thermoplastics can be better at resisting discoloring.
Almost all of them will discolor to some degree with time and u.v. exposure.

The trick is to keep it filled with Jagermeister then you won't notice any discolouration... or anything else!

Mine has more spots on it. I need to take some good photos in sunlight.bbturbodad wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 4:27 pmIf I get it at just the right angle it does look like the epoxy is a little orange/light brown at the thick edge but I never noticed it til I looked after seeing this thread. I should have taken these BEFORE I posted the thread. Sorry about that. It is DEFINITELY Rust. Took some pictures in good light.
Curious what they Spyder Crew thinks of this? It's not unheard of for LC200N to rust, just rare.
I have an H1 Tasman that I've had in my shower for months without rust. I haven't even put this glass in the dishwasher. Hand wash only. A little disappointing.

Mine is a user and has a little tiny baby freckle of red patina on the top and another on the bottom of the blade against the glass but not in the epoxy.
