Seems weird seeing you with a Millie so often lately. Always thought it would be a knife higher on your list since I've been around.
It was the first Spyderco I fell in love with. Seems I could have saved myself a lot of trouble if I just stuck with it ;)

I bought this one at the seconds sale. Hadn't carried it at all really until the other day when I decided to put an edge on it. Now I'm looking through my collection deciding what to sell / trade towards more Millies.

I EDC'd a CPMD2 Millie blade with forced patina and stupid thin edge swapped to a digicamo handle for years.

Image

That was my favorite for years but it got stolen in 2014.

It's funny, on paper the Chief, Police 4 and Manix XL all have advantages over the Millie. Locks that keep the blade closed better, tip up options, slimmer blade stock, no thumb ramp (chief) or minimal thumb ramp (xl).

Sometimes you gotta take in the whole experience instead of nitpicking the details. Ever since I put this Military in my pocket I've had no desire to carry anything else.

Here's a drunk review I made with it back around 2013

S90V Chief has dominated my pocket since I got it.

Words cant express how much I love that blade swap on the dragonfly.
I keep wishing for a PE G-10 Hawkbill Dragonfly. Maybe I'll just have to settle for SE and make my own.

Thanks! I'm honestly not a really big fan of the standard FRN Dfly, but I had the G10 model and new how awesome it was so I took the plunge and picked up the Salt Dragonfly and I'm really happy with how it turned out, it's 100% as awesome as I thought it might be, solid as a rock, perfect detent and lock-up, everything is as on point as if it were made that way. I just finished it a few days ago and it's been by secondary/SE EDC every day since, if you're on the fence of doing it, DO IT, you won't be disappointed, besides SE H1 is awesome, PE H1 is meh at best.

;) :D :)

The Endela gets talked about a lot at the moment it seems
Made me grab mine again, it´s been a while.
Great knife, especially the perfect serrations it offers!

This actually really looks a lot like where I live (...and hike ;) )
And this could easily be the Native version I´d go for if I´d get another one! Serrated, and bright color, great in the outdoors..

I know we´ve both said this lately already, but actually the linerlock for me can be seen as an advantage over all other locktypes in some regards - right, it does not keep the blade as good closed in pocket (though this never was a problem for me), but is just so great and natural in usability under all conditions. And for me very safe in use, especially concerning how good the knife always stays in hand while operation.
And I just have to say it: Though it might certainly be important for some to have a lock that "keeps the fingers all the time out of the blade path", I think many just believe this and repeat it cause they heard it so often, but never really evaluated for themselves. For me it has never been not a concern at all in real use under many conditions, even not with the choil-less Tenacious.

This little guy has been in my pocket since Friday and to be honest I can’t seem to put it away.

The fit and finish of this guy is just amazing, and the blade is the sharpest I’ve seen out of the factory. (Mind you I’m not as experienced as most here, but still)

I’m even starting to warm up to the color of the g10 scales, from the pictures I thought it was the ugliest color imaginable, but not in real life.

Still I’m getting a pair of micarta scales for it to match my shaman.

Epic!
Thank you.
Sometimes you just get really lucky, and this was one of those times. I was out on one of my walks, it was chilly, and this Dragonfly was not darting about everywhere... I got two photos of him on my K390 DF2, the one above, and another with his tail a little more straightened out. I can't tell you how long I thought of a photo like this, but figure the odds... I don't often carry a DF2, and to have a dragonfly actually Land and Stay on it While out in the woods... until it actually happened.
To me - one of the coolest photos I've taken of a Spydie.
