So in anticipation of this one, I ordered a blue backspacer direct from Alistair Philips. I think it'll look great with the grey. Fingers crossed I can get the knife to go with it!
Kapara is a red backed spider, reason for the red back spacer. Me personally would leave it as is.

But yes, different colors are cool if thats what you like on your knife.

I had a bad case of black widows in my garage here in Florida
If they make one in brown micarta, we can call it the “Recluse”!

Interesting, I haven't seen one since moving down here. Now I know where they all went!

The scales are smooth, but the ergos of the handle keep it locked pretty well in your hand. I have no concerns about slipping up onto the blade or around the handle in general on these, CF or G10. Personally, I prefer the G-10, but I think these will be popular for blade swaps, look for some aftermarket scales for these in the next few months as well, we have a guy working on them.
Oh, that's exciting news! Any chance that those aftermarket scales will be available in micarta (preferably green)? :)

There will absolutely be micarta.

Alistair specifically sells a bright cherry red backspacer on his website because they didn’t use the right color G10 as the Redback prototype he supplied to Spyderco (Spyderco uses “ruby red”, the darker more crimson version). Just because the original Kapara had a red backspacer doesn’t mean that every sprint or exclusive of it also must have that color backspacer, I’d hope the outfit ordering it would have some say in the color scheme. :)

I get it, and I definitely think the red is great, especially on the original. But y'all know I like to personalize my knives, and the designer himself is selling the other colors, so he approves, too. ;)

These are old piks, I think the first one brown is a male and the second black is a female. If you see spikey looking egg sacks in a spiderweb theres widows around. I killed many at night in my garage at that house I lived at. I havent seen any since I left that house.

As I said, its your knife to customise if you want. I dont have a Kapara yet and would prefer it with red as the original. When DLT realeases the micarta, I will buy it with whatever color they choose.

Yessir, Ripps has those among other scales on the production schedule for us.

That looks kinda gray...
And I bet they didn't cut that apple with Kapara :D

Unfortunately they kinda ruined the exclusives by making the nicest handle on the standard model in CF, all the G10 variations will look downgraded, S30V is good enough for me so I'm good.

On the other hand we can see weird colors selling, Grinch-green or vomit-yellow anybody?

The marbled CF on the original is beautiful. No lies. Absolutely luxurious.
