Anyone have thoughts or heard whispers of a Para 3 tanto in the works?

With the success of the PM2 tanto BladeHQ exclusive, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before we see a Para 3 version. I don’t think anything has been announced, however. I do think I remember seeing something about a Para 3 wharncliffe exclusive to cutlery shoppe before it was deleted. So I wouldn’t be surprised if other blade shapes were in the works.

I would be surprised if one were in the works as Spyderco is not big on tantos, but sure it would be cool. Maybe some of the members with the skills and tools could sketch one for the rest of us :)

The way the PM2 tanto blade is designed is really amazing. Absolutely deserves to be used in more models.
Though I think I´d like to see it in a Millie a lot more than in a Para 3. Yes, I generally do prefer the Millie over the Para 3, but that´s not the reason in this case. Just have a feeling that for me the tanto shape would work better in longer blades (so that there is a good amount of straight edge from the handle on to that secondary tip).
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

No interest from me, but it really is a beautiful tanto and people seem to like them. A Para 3 exclusive seems like a no brainer.

Agreed. I'd go bigger first. I'd prefer a longer fixed blade tanto(same blade shape as PM2 just longer), but I'd be in for a millie.

Are the PM2/3 blades interchangeable? Aside from length obviously.

I did just post about a Dragonfly tanto so I can't say I'm not interested in a smaller version, but I'm 100% more interested in a tanto Military.

I would be down for this. I love the Para 3, but I don't much like the Para 2; however, as others have said, I'd still be more interested in a tanto Millie. That's got to be the greatest folder Spyderco has ever made.

I wouldn't see why not, but I've never tried. My image is a photoshop to give an idea of what a para 3 might look like.

I’d get in line for one if they happen. I have a slightly smaller Kershaw tanto and have found the secondary tip extremely useful with my index finger straight down the spine for scoring plastic. Figure having a more robust build and more comfortable scales would be ideal.

The Para 3 is my favorite Spyderco model and I’d love a Tanto version. I have the PM2 Tanto in S30V and M4 but it’s a larger knife than I prefer to carry everyday. I’m not picky about the steel, I’d just love to see it happen. But since Spyderco has only used 3V once before that I know of, it would be cool to see it again on a Tanto.
