Pm2s oos

#1

Post by VooDooChild »

I just happened to notice that most of the production pm2s are out of stock at most of the larger retailers. Of course the bay is flooded with them, but as far as authorised dealers go the stock looks pretty thin.

I am not looking for one and not looking to find out where they are still in stock.

I was just pointing out that the Golden factory must be pretty busy lately.

This could be the result of a CQI change where the PM2 and some others are changing from S30V to S45VN.

Yep the PM2 & Para 3 are listed as having S45VN in the 2021 catalog. And Sal confirmed it as a “steel CQI”.

I'm so glad now the Para2 left hand was out of stock when I wanted to buy it :D

As mentioned, at this point I would just wait for the S45vn one.

They must be so busy in Golden! They've been consistently releasing the SPY27 models, and apparently Shamans in S30V. Looking forward to see what comes out next.

Apologies to the thread starter, who mentioned that they were not looking for one. But just in case anyone else is looking, they are in stock in the following places:

(Digi Camo, S45VN)

https://www.dlttrading.com/spyderco-par ... black-g-10
(Black G10, S45VN)

**** I really must of been under a rock during the pandemic... I didn't know they were transitioning!

To be fair I'm still really happy with s30v and I think the change is mostly to appease the "Steel snobs".

S45VN is designed to help the manufacturers more than the end-user, just like S35VN. Of course, if you have anything above a knife in 1095cv steel, you are a steel snob. :D

Jealous... We don't have the S45 variants yet up here. Don't need it, but ... that is part of the sickness I guess.

Cru-carta PM2 is production, which I would take over a G10 Cruwear anyday (which I also have...the Purple Cruwear PM2). But I agree Cruwear needs to be a production steel across the board!
