Ivory would look really nice on a Sprint Run Pattada with the M390 steel upgrade.

If you like thin edges and pointy tips the Pattada is a great knife. Curious to see this smaller version!

Wow...
Just came in.
Quick little disclaimer:
  • Yes, the photos are..meh
  • I have never owned the Pattada, so I can’t speak to that comparison
  • I like pictures, so here's pictures :)

Initial impression: Compact for sure!
Fits the hand real nice, and for those wondering (like I was before purchase) yes, you can spydie-flick with the middle finger.
Maybe not like a PM2 or Military but it can be done!
The action is noticeably smoother than other spyderco's I own.

I'll be comparing the Pattadese to:
  • Manix 2
  • PM2
  • Military
  • Victorinox Pioneer
  • Victorinox Cadet

Enough talk! PICTURES!!

Thanks. Tell us more about the edge. How thick behind the edge ... you know, things like that

Thanks for the great photos. I finally have a grasp on what this knife really looks like. How’s the grip and texture? How did the edge come from the Italian factory? Beautiful knife!

Being a 2.5mm blade stock and tapering to that pointy tip, it is slicey for sure.
I especially like the longer - drawn out tip and the sweep of the belly.
The edge came sharp and even, but I'll be touching it up like I usually do to give it a polished coarse edge.
For me, I like the bite.

Unfortunately I don't have a vernier caliper to measure behind the edge thickness, I should go out and buy a decent pair in general.

The G-10 is nice and smooth. Photos would lead you to believe that it's more coarse.
Imagine the G10 on the Siren being very grippy and coarse.
PM2 + Military G10 being normal
Pattadese is softer than all those.
But not to the point where traction in hand is lost.
It feels like a more refined G10 that you'd usually expect on let's say a PM2, if that makes sense.

Mine just came and I'm blown away by it  Thank you Sal for this awesome reinterpretation of the Pattada. It is indeed a gem. I never thought I will say it but this one is going to displace most of my pocket knives from my daily carry rotation. Hey, it might even displace my beloved K390 Urban. It is going to be in direct fierce competition with my Watu. Very good fit and finish, awesome neutral with smooth but not to smooth rounded G10 handle, wire pocket clip, it sports my favorite lock, thin blade with a very useful edge shape for slicing and piercing, very thin behind the edge and M390 steel as a bonus. It goes without sayin that I am going to purchase at least one more. Enough said !

I don’t have one yet, but to elaborate on just one reason why I like this one’s blade, it’s style of “belly” is something I’ve wanted to try for a long time. The curve is very quick and isn’t drawn out which means the line to the tip and guard is rather straight.
Seems like it would be perfect for placing on a flat surface and pull cutting because you get a lot of blade contact on the cutting board, for example, and the angle of the blade gives you room to pull through something. Like when slicing meat on a plate with a steak knife.

I really hope that the release of the Pattadese results in a Sprint of the Pattada in M390. That wld be such an amazing knife and cool to have a big little brother pair :)

I hope they re-release the Pattada again too.
I recently acquired a pattada and have been using other Resolza style blade shapes.

They’re very useful shapes for everyday tasks, especially food items.

A newer pattada with smooth ivory g10 and m390 would be such an awesome iteration and update to a classy old school design.

Fingers crossed really...

Does the Pattada have the same detent design as the Pattadese? It’s an interesting part of this new knife.
There isn’t a dimple to accept the ball bearing, instead it rests off the edge of the blade’s tang.

RS sir do you have any pictures of both knives with the blade open so I can see how long each knife is...lined up at the pivot if you have time. Looking to get a Pattadese. Thank you.

I like it.
For pocketability... it’s excellent.
Personally, I like larger blades like the 100mm Resolza or the Pattada.

But throwing in a pocket, the Pattadese is really the right size.
It definitely gets the job done (especially in my case, for food) and with m390, it's pushing better 'daily use' characteristics that i'm looking for... like edge retention, and sharpening with less (if any) of a burr, more stain resistant, etc.
