:p :p Actually the most sensible way to see it! :)
Still, these threads are always fun in way - if one accepts in the fist place that this is pretty much ALL they are
One of those threads that I know will have me banging my head against the wall...but I can't resist to look and participate anyways :p
Right.
There are days when I absolutely have to skip these threads, but on other (most) days I love having fun in reading and participating
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)
Michael 48 Spydies, 44 different models, 43 different steels . Grail knife, still to be acquired: original Tuff by Ed SchemppFeel free to help me find one at a reasonable price...
I'd settle for a 27" bladed Darn Dao. Then it would be a full size saber.
Well, at least not a locking folder and no one handed opening... and not the first choice for secretly bringing it to commit one of the oh so many knife crimes.
Perhaps legal in more countries than a PM2, who knows...

Has there ever been a Forum Dragonfly? If not, that might be cool. It's a really neat looking little knife that I need to get around to snagging a variant of one day.

Let's not miss the fact that Sal keeps an eye on what we talk about. Some of this stuff might show up as Sprint Runs, Exclusives, or regular production, even if not a forum knife. AND, we may yet get a forum knife.

That's true and good you said it.
What I and probably others meant before: These threads will most likely never lead to consens which parrticular model should be the forum knife, but they still might contain inputs that are considered by Spyderco in one way or the other (so there is hope for the CBBL folding spoon and the 27" bladed Darn Dao... just kidding )

One idea I had posted earlier, in the other thread: why not call the Damasteel UKPK (that now seems to have turned into an Urban) the next Forum Knife? After all, most of the configuration has been chosen by us here, in the forum. In my eyes it would be a true FK.
That is if it can in fact be squeezed in to production schedules, and subject to the chosen Damasteel pattern availability.

Seems like UKPK would be more difficult to implement in 2021 schedules...

i want an unobtanium/8cr13mov damascus blade with handle scales made out of kelp from monterey bay and coral from the great barrier reef with kryptonite inlays and no liners. i also want a baby seal leather lanyard (i'll settle for shark skin if that will make more people happy) with an ivory bead sourced from free range elephants. please ship it in a plastic bottle reclaimed from the pacific ocean trash island. i'm not picky about which model you choose, as long as it's exactly what every person on the forum wants and it's under $99. seriously, i'm not paying a dime more.
I've purchased a couple lotto tickets in my day. I think not only for the hope of winning, but also to have an opportunity to dream. Guess I didn't get enough during 4th hour English class, watching 4th hour Gym class out the window.
Slipjoint Chaparral in micarta would be sweet. Maybe in Maxamet and matching washed clip.
Like a nice skipper stone in the pocket.
Lil Kapara in micarta and LC200N.
Pm2 tanto dlc cru carta.
So shines a good deed in a weary world. (Willy Wonka)
I'll vote for a Lil Native fixed blade ... it really is what the Enuff wants to be!!!
CG
Ask me, and the Enuff "wants" to be a knife with much thinner, but perhaps a tad longer blade...So certainly not a Lil Native, which is more of what the Enuff should NOT be
Just kidding, no offense and totally subjective of course! :)
But it shows the problem with consensus on a forum knife: Sure, I never thought I could settle on a non locking small folder, but now the UKPK would be really ok for me.
The Lil Native though would be too much. One of the few Spydies that does not much right for my personal preferences (though it admittedly has some cool factor  ).. and perhaps a bit too specialized for a forum knife in the unusual combination of small, but bulky size and thick blade?
G,
I knew there would be push back on this when I posted it so no shock or offense here. I get the "Something Other Than Enuff" concept, with a longer and more slender blade, a general purpose knife; and am behind it 100%.
But I do enjoy a short thick fixed blade as well ... just prefer that it is matched with a shorter handle vs a longer handle. The shorter handle is much more nimble and maneuverable in hand whereas the longer handle feels like excessive bulk on the back end.
The lil native is about the right proportions to achieve this. Fix the blade and round the edges on the handle and walllah!!! The pic below should help illustrate what I am getting at.
Non consensus voting, yes it is! Consensus voting, I'll put in for a UKPK Wharncliffe.
I'd like to see an Endura with S90V FFG, smooth maroon linen micarta scales, 3d machined with a Spyder machined into both sides. This would be a dream knife for me and it would be fun to listen to people whine about how much it costs. :D

I would not "whine"!
This would be an absolutely amazing model, except I would not need S90V necessarily (but not be opposed to it either!)

I'm willing to compromise. We could go with M390/20CV.
