Should one be concerned about the clip causing the wood to crack?

Can´t imagine that - how do you think it could happen?
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

Do you mean that the pressure of the screw on the clip would make the wood crack? I don't think that would be an issue unless you're putting crazily unnecessary torque on the screw. Especially with the liners supporting the wood.

Only reason I can think why someone would ask this question is because the Sage 4 had an issue on the lefty side when the clip was moved, the scales cracked sometimes.

If it was to happen, I think the most likely way would be from a rotational or twisting force on the clip in relation to the knife.

I noticed that my maple chap has a small clear sticker on the scale where the curve of the clip meets the scale--roughly in the middle of the scale. I don't think they wood will crack there, but I suppose the clip could abrade the finish or wood under a lot of use. No worries for me, I bought it to carry.

It's not a sticker, just there to protect the wood during shipping, there is no adhesive.

You're right. It's a thin round piece of protective film. Mine hasn't come off despite some pocket time.

With THIS particular model it is really NOT like "If you´ve seen one you´ve seen them all" :)

Mine was scheduled to be delivered today but it looks like it's been delayed. No surprise there!

I asked the guy I spoke to at the dealer to ask the warehouse to please pick me a nice one. We'll see if they come through

Does anyone have a picture of the Birds Eye Maple vs the FRN version? I am curious about the thickness and any additonal conturing (if any), Thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to post these pics. Looks good to me. I will be jumping on this if I don’t win the Shaman Z lottery….
