Shaman Z-Wear Sprint - General Discussion & Support thread - (not alerts)

#1

Post by JMM »

Hi folks, this thread is intended for all of the discussion & support content that doesn't belong in the actual "Alerts/Lookout" thread. It's really difficult for folks that are subscribed to the lookout thread are working or are simply unable to check their phone every 5 minutes... please use this thread for ANYTHING related to the Z-Wear Shaman that is not a in-stock/lookout alert. TIA!

This was a good idea. I try not to talk in the other thread because i don't want to give anybody a heart attack. :)

Well, this thread is quite boring compared to the other one though! The other one is full of juicy paranoia, panic attacks, entitlement and anxiety!

I'm looking forward to the first "does anybody else's Z-carta Shaman smell" comment!

That one was interesting to me, I had that Rosewood Shaman as well for a bit, just didn't like the feel and color of the scales in person. I also felt weird smelling my knife after seeing multiple complaints...but I did it anyways :p

Put my pre-order in yesterday! Cost an arm and a leg up here in Canada but I couldn't resist. Would hate to miss out. The interest is intense even though its a fairly pricey knife. Now to grab a couple cru pm2s and one of those and one of those and one of those and one of those.

This just arrived tonight. The shaman may be my new favorite model. I really hope Spyderco decides to keep some sort of micarta shaman in production.

Did you measure the thickness behind the edge ? Never owned a Shaman mostly because people say it’s quite tbe.

I didn't notice until my wife handled the knife and made a comment almost immediately.

I haven’t measured yet but it’s definitely a thick blade.

I just pulled up this thread and it had the original cruwear sprint listed:

Shaman Cruwear/Micarta: 0.026", 0.025", 0.024" bte
Shaman Cruwear/Micarta: 0.021/0.023/0.023 stock thickness 0.145

Haha I actually noticed it too last night and tried to get my wife to smell and she just gave me a weird look.
