Seeing the nestled liners gives me a bit more confidence.
Im pretty green to the game, id say you are right mate, maybe it was just because I was comparing it to the lil native at the same time, which I ended up buying and love it.
The sun n moon felt so light, interesting about what you say about its weight.
I'll definitely be checking it out again.
We don't have many stockists here in Sydney, but I know of one really good one, and the owner Jays real nice fella.
Usually order online from him but im going to have to organise a trip out to see him with my bro, who also loves Spyderco.
Well, perhaps I just don´t have a correct understanding of your term "flimsy" for the Chap, since English is not my native tongue. For me it means "weak", "frail", "unsolid", perhaps "wobbly..." and that is all what the Chap is absolutely NOT for me

But if you mean "thin" - well, of course that´s true for the Chap! Both in handle and blade, but still very strong
Actually I so much like that it has liners, because I am quite sure THAT amazing thinness can only be achieved by metal liners.
FRN and G10 alone are strong enough in a bit thicker handles, but solely FRN in the Chap thinness without liners would probably get "flimsy" indeed.
/ Sure, if you compare the sun and moon Chap to the comp.lock Lil Native, the former might feel light - the Lil Native is a bit smaller, but still heavier indeed, in fact very heavy for the small size
But compare the Sun and moon Chap to a Delica (bigger, liners, but same weight) or even the new ffg Salt (also bigger, not liners, clearly lighter lighter (1.9 vs 2.3 oz) and the former might not feel so light and not "flimsy" anymore...

I think you should give the Chap a try, the FRN is perfect (but the Sun and Moon or Maple certainly too): It is just 3mm / 0.13" longer in closed size than the Lil Native, but a lot lighter, a lot slimmer and imho in practically every knife task a better performer: 11mm / 0.33 more cutting edge, and that in 2mm ffg! (the Lil Natives blade is 60 % thicker...) - that blade alone (pretty unique in Spydercos line up) makes it worth trying the Chap.
