Got 2 of the DLC's after trying for 20 minutes. Mine shipped from VA as well with tracking showing Wednesday then changed to Friday and they got delivered on Wednesday after all. One was very drop shutty out of the box while the other is so stiff it doesn't budge without flicking it closed. The stiff one was very well centered while the drop shut was off a little bit but only took maybe 1/4 turn to center it up.

Tracking on Monday had eta of Friday. Received Wednesday evening. Very nice! I had to hold the scales to the light since the angles make it looks like the scales can rub the blade, which is not rubbing. There is a medium moisture absorbing packet and paper insert warning about possible corrosion and more maintenance required due to the blade type.

Anyone know how long those moisture absorbing packets last?
Mine arrived a couple of days earlier than the ETA.

The blade on mine was touching the G-10/liner when closed. I've loosened the screws, and placed a folded coupon next to the blade to push it away from the G-10/liner, then tightened the screws. Problem solved!

The desiccant will absorb and dry out with changes in the weather. Don't let it touch the blade if you store the knife in the box. Larger packets of desiccant can be dehumidified by placing them in an oven, I forget what to set the temperature to and how long it has to stay in the oven. I've microwaved larger bags of desiccant, it takes less time and it steams the moisture out of them. Nuke them until the moisture is steaming, then take the packet out of the microwave and let the steam dissipate. Once the bag is cool put it back it and do it again. You'll see less and less steam when they're completely dehydrated.

Well, this ebayer has at least 5 listed. I literally created an account (which I'll keep using) just to share their ebay link:

Image
They are marking them up 200% and they definitely don't have them yet. Jerks.
Welcome to the world of flippers. It's pretty sick that this happens. I always say not to buy the marked up knives as they would have to lower prices to move them sooner or later, unless they just want to sit on them indefinitely. But people do buy them, unfortunately.

If there's a buck to be made people will find a way to make it.
I might be wrong, but I think this tanto version is a sign of what might come into the future, a PM2 with a sturdier blade and a stronger tip (which would be my dream).
If they made a sabre ground version without the wave I think that would be cool, but I usually grab my Shaman which has a stronger tip so it would be a wash for me. Not a tanto fan, so I don't intend on picking up the pm2 tanto, but it's cool people have that choice! It does look nice and ground well.

This may not be news to those of you who buy a lot of PM2's (this is my first in 10 years) but the blade tip is essentially in the same place as it is on the standard blade shape. This was the deciding factor for me because I don't like how the usual tanto blade has the tip all the way at the top at the spine. Here's a comparision between my last PM2 purchase, the CTS-20CP sprint.

It looks like I'm holding the 20CP a little higher, but the blade is actually slightly higher at the tip, so the blade angle/slope of the spine may even be lower on the tanto.

The 20CP has been sharpened A LOT so pay no attention to the blade length difference.

Mine arrived yesterday. Fit and finish is flawless. Im not a big tanto guy but they knocked this one of of the park. Its definetly worth the hype. Ill buy a s30v if I ever get the chance now down the road (Shaman is next on my list however).

The looks, the feel, and the action are all superb. Im in love with the grind on this blade. The blade feels beefy, like you can put it to work. First G10 in jade also . It looks a lot better in person IMO. Pictures don't do it justice (I generally prefer black handles).

I already ordered a lynch clip for it, going to be my new edc, taking my Manix's spot.

They should really make this a staple for the PM2 or try other models if they keep the PM2 a bladehq exclusive. Such a great knife.

It feels inevitable, just look at it. You'd think you couldn't alter something so iconic, but it's perfect. I can't wait to pick one out. I'm kinda new to the family, Kapara and m4 Shaman only. It will probably be number 5. I'm waiting on a delica salt and another lightweight, but maybe next Christmas a micarta option will be around. Cuz that's the knife I'm picturing on the table beside me and my chair. Can't wait. Thanks for making the coolest knives on Earth.

I appreciate the effort. Thanks.

Could you take a picture of both from above please ? Next to eachothers ? Thanks in advance.

Next to each other, like this? This is a standard, left hand PM 2, on the left along with the jade/tanto PM 2.

That's a lot of love for a knife you just got yesterday and haven't used yet! :p

Yes, thanks a lot.

The PM2 tanto blade seems a lot sturdier. I didn't expect that, it's great.

Looks like Pokey took care of ya. Calling it more beefy is an understatement, the mass of the blade reminds me a lot of the Yojimbo 2.

Yeah, there's more meat to the blade up front. I'll flick it and the standard model open and you can tell the blade moves slower with that tanto blade, and when it comes to a stop, moving either direction, you can really feel it's mass. And, I like it! :D

The weight also makes dropping it closed much easier, it'll allow us to tweak out just a bit more blade play in the pivot while still keeping it smooth dropping.

I got mine yesterday. The scales will definitely get dyed. Not a fan of the jade. The centering and action are both great, but it does have a large flat spot on the front edge. Not surprising though. The last several Golden Spydercos I have received have had uneven grinds and horrible edges. Looks like I will be sharpening on my weekend. I was hoping to avoid having to sharpen the m4 so soon.

My DLC version arrived. Action out of the box is somewhat stiff maybe because the DLC adds a little thickness to the blade? The swedge is slightly asymmetric at the plunge, same as with the satin S30v version I had. Very minor. Otherwise, perfect centering, zero blade play, sharp with nearly even bevels. Nice knife.
