Is the only way to get ahold of one of these to refresh a lot of dealer listings all day, every day, now that they are shipping? I signed up for email notifications on a few sites, are those reliable?

Standing buy. I'll give it a shot, nothing to lose except some time I guess. If I do get through I will buy two (if allowed) and offer one to anyone who has posted on this thread at zero mark-up.
Quite a kind gesture of you sir! This will be my first Shaman and I'm really hoping I can snag one, if not I'll take you up on your offer.

If I get through and am able to score two I'll do the same for you! :D

In the past email notifications have been useless for hotly contested Sprint runs, so if you really want one set up a string of browser tabs with all your favorite vendors, so you can scan through a couple times a day to check stock.

There have been Sprint runs that hang around for weeks or even months, if this one is made in large enough numbers that could conceivably happen. I'm not holding my breath, but it's possible.

Thanks, I'll be keeping my eyes open! I might be new to the forum, but I know these will probably sell like hotcakes!

There is a collector club version on eBay now.

I'd guess we will start seeing these at dealers soon. Best of luck to all trying to score one! I'll be right there with you. I sold my Cruwear one when I heard the Z-wear was coming out because I needed the funds at the time and was thinking I could pick up the Z-wear not long after. Well that was well over a year ago so I am excited to finally see these drop!

Do we know if these will be going to distributors as well? My pre-purchase is from a vendor that uses a distributor and is not a direct dealer, AFAIK. It is too late to pre-order elsewhere, so I want to know what kind of lolly scramble I'm in for.

Yeah, I'd assume this goes through the same distributor channels as everything else. It will probably end up at at least 30+ online dealers. Some are pretty small dealers but still seem to get a few of each Sprint.

Since I'm new to this forum I wanted to reach out to anybody who might know or have the answer to my question. Since it appears that many retailers are either sold out or going to be sold out within minutes of announcing limited stock is there anyway to subscribe to this thread to get an email notification? It's very thoughtful of forum members to relay information regarding availability. If I don't know about it more than a nanosecond after it's announced, the knife appears to be sold out. Any help would be appreciated.

There is a wrench button at the bottom with a "Subscribe to Topic" option. Since I'm new and my posts are still moderated, someone else may reply before me.

The little wrench at the top allows you to subscribe to the thread. However I don’t think that would be a reliable way unless you constantly check your email every 5 minutes.

Thanks for the info everyone. Pretty much impossible to be that quick when you have to work. Going to keep looking but I'm guessing it's going to be the next best thing to impossible to get this one unless other dealers have more stock at some point. I'm happy that it is working out for others though. I'm a recent convert to the brand so if this doesn't work out they do make other great knives. :) It would be cool if this were a standard model since it's so popular. I'll have to do some looking around for other Spyderco models with 3-4 inch blades and micarta handles. Steel type is pretty flexible as I like most of the steels Spyderco uses.
