i would take spy27 in a denim micarta. i'm actually kind of surprised the yojimbo hasn't been released that way with mr. janich's original intent on having denim colored g10.

Because there are so many different factors that will determine when we finally get the finished product>> and truthfully if it takes a while longer to insure that we get a really high quality version of this great model I don't even care if it takes another 8 to 10 months if that's what it takes for great overall results.
Just so you know, I'll take a "not so great" version from an earlier rejected batch, just as long as the lock works. I'd like to have the really nice version, also.
That won't be necessary Donut :) I think by the very latest and maybe the 4th of July, 2021 we will all be flooding this thread with comments about how awesome we think that the 2021 Sprint of the C-60 is. But I'm still hopeful we may see them sooner than that.

But even if it's Labor Day Weekend of this year 2021 I'll still be very grateful that I'll have a knife that I'll be able to call my new EDC  But again I just don't think it's going to be that long.

Answering the original question - Spyderco Worker with a little more usable grind would be a lovely sprint run (I know it was a sprint run :) ) I like when sprint runs are not just common models with yet-another steel and different FRN scales, even though it is easy to understand why that is often the case.

Ay Vash, nice to see you as well... sorry to all but I haven’t had the chance to read this entire thread so I do apologize and I’ll read it in full very soon... I was just thinking in case nobody had mentioned it...I personally would love to see this little beast with G-10 slabs... I think it would make a world of difference, especially when it comes to retention... if it’s been mentioned already sorry for the redundancy...

The most interesting facet is that Sal said it will not be VG-10, so we've been wildly speculating what it could possibly be.

Also, hi, welcome back to the forum.

HOLY SPYDEREDGE BATMAN!@@!@!! Hey DOC I can't tell you how good it is to see you back here again :) It's been a few years ago but I vividly remember some type of "meat test" you spoke of concerning the C-60 model quite a while back and I remember I was impressed. Glad you could make it to the C-60 party. We've already got the "Green Light" on this C-60 Massad Ayoob Sprint run and we were able to convince Sal that SE & PE both would be most appropriate for a Sprint run of this elite Spyderco old school model. I've got a sneaking suspicion it's going to be done in SPY-27 blade steel. And I hope I'm right from what I've heard about it.

Again my friend it's great to see you back :)

I do firmly believe that this upcoming C-60 Ayoob Sprint Run is going to enjoy some noticeable success>> if that does come to fruition then I hope it inspires Mr. Massad Ayoob to design another super ergonomic folder. It's not often that a knife designer hits a home run with one of his first designs out of the gate. But I do think that this was the case with this C-60 model.

I would really like to see how he could top the C-60>> or even do something similar. It would be most interesting to see what Mr. Ayoob would come up with at this point.

Well DOC I'm sure glad you got back here to Spyderville at a great time. Because getting the proverbial "green light" on this Sprint Run of the C-60 Ayoob has been one of my most enjoyable times here at Spyderville. Not to mention we were able to convince them of the fact that the C-60 Ayoob was one old school Spyderco model that the Spyderedged version was just as well loved as the plain edged version was.
I'm personally blown away at how long this thread has lasted. I'm also amazed at how many people that I seen that came out of the woodwork to voice their desires to see the return of one of my personal all time favorite Spyderco models. Remembering how much you liked the C-60 over the years it just seems to be more than appropriate that you would come back at this time.

The expectation of the C-60 in SPY-27 really has my attention. But now I'm wondering with all the talk about K390 if that wouldn't be a great blade steel for the C-60 Ayoob? Haven't yet heard any confirmation as to how K390 would hold up in a Spyderedged blade. I do know that XHP works well for SE. But it would be interesting to test a prototype of an SE C-60 Ayoob model in both of those steels.

K390 just seems to get more popular as time goes by. I'm kind of now wondering what the rest of you all might think about K390 as a possibility for the C-60 Ayoob at some point? It certainly wouldn't be the first blade they've done in two different blade steels.

i'm personally not interested in a non-stainless steel for a knife meant for self-defense. in a sd design, especially, i want a knife i never have to worry about and i want to be able to wear it in my waistband so that it's always in the same place no matter what type of pants i'm wearing.

i've also requested the yojimbo and matriarch be made in lc200n and h1, respectively. even though they are stainless, i think they'd benefit from being more corrosion resistant. and the matriarch in h1 makes so much sense that i can't fathom why it hasn't happened.

No I'm not jealous at all. Because when I get my new Sprint Run C-60 Ayoob I will semi-retire my M390 Military and the new C-60 Ayoob is in line to be my next primary EDC. I think it's just the proper thing to do.

There will be no need to be jealous or envious. Because this New C-60 Ayoob will be the best thing to come along in the last 5 years or so.
