As a forum knife it must be something special:

Vanax Superclean DLC blade;
Titanium handle;

...

Bug!

Thinking about it:

Maybe a special version (steel, handle color...) of the great Rock Jumper?!
Or, even better: The first iteration of the LEAF Jumper could be the forum knife...? :rolleyes:

I was about to say this. What better way for the return of the forum knife than Sal's newest production design. Make it in SPY27 to celebrate the new Spyderco-exclusive steel.

Right, Rock- or Leaf Jumper in SPY 27 would be a perfect choice! - Only thing: Don´t know if they are ready to use that steel in Seki knives yet.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Thanks a bunch for the answer, Wartstein!
I like the rock jumper and fixed blade ideas, as well as Spy27, but anything is neat to me :)

What can we do to get a forum knife?

I want a knife most of us can buy and own legally. So, a UKPK in 204P or even SPY27 and G10 would be worth considering. I want a Golden made knife.

I already have a couple of those. Love them.

A Li'l Native back lock in a great steel and color would be fine by me, too.

I'm holding out hope that the Ayoob will come in SPY27.

The knife community has lost several makers over the last year or two. I wouldn't mind seeing one of the old collaborations be resurrected as the next forum knife.

I really like the idea of a Rock Jumper in a special steel and handle. I also like the idea of a fixed blade, but maybe not as popular.

I also love the Native Chief. Perhaps a bit big for some people, but the Military has been a forum knife in the past so...

To the people (constantly) requesting Vanax and titanium, I feel like the idea of the forum knife is something special yet affordable. Plus Spyderco most certainly loses money on these no matter what they are, so asking for the most expensive materials possible is somewhat ridiculous. Plus, unlike on social media, I feel like the general taste of this forum runs a but more practical, but that's just anecdotal (for example, the recent thread on favorite handle material leaned much more toward composites than metal).

That would be interesting, nit does Spyderco has a smallish EDC fixed blade? They probably wouldn’t make one just for this occasion.

The Enuff would be one, right? Though too thick bladestock for my taste.

I thought one of the overseas members had a few pretty well thought threads with polls for a forum knife and even Sal was commenting in there. Anybody know if anything is coming from that?

Yes, I did. But it was more a "grail poll" - similar to now.
It should habe been a Golden model which many ignored. I also contacted Sal for some details but no reply.

At the end SPY27 "won" because it was near to be out but not yet.

Model not decided. As SPY27 it should have been cobalt blue but maybe also not the favorite color for many.

As you see here, a poll does not make sense as everybody throws in their dream grail knife.

They are too picky these days.
Maybe the last forum knife (PM2) did not sale well, so Spyderco might not be interested in a new one.

I would love to see an updated Gen 1 Delica (pointy tip - I don't care if it's a FFQ or hallow grind), with titanium scales, and a carbon steel like Hap40/Rex45, Cru-wear, M4, etc. (depends on where it's made, I suppose). I don't really care if it's a forum knife or a special limited run.

A super corrosion resistant steel and DLC is a bit of a hat on a hat for me. I do like the idea of titanium or titanium liners with rounded and polished linen micarta
