Hmmm, now glancing it at certain light angles, I seem to have found where the cosmetic defects are:

Any ideas what may have caused this?

Heat treatment or grinding error?

I got a Para 3 LW and one side of the blade did not get polished, plus no Spydee logo. But perfectly functional. I'm happy with it!

I have a PM3 LW from the 2019 2nds sale that is similar to this. It's not that the presentation side of the blade didn't get polished... It's that they took it to a belt and very carefully ground off some engraving of some sort that was near the Spydie logo. My best guess is that it might have been collector club numbers that didn't get sold, as I have ghosting on mine that appear to be just that, and my :spyder: is still somewhat visible.

To give an update, I ordered a PM2 DLC Digicamo and a PM2 Maxamet. The Maxamet blade was fairly marked up, so I decided to try my hand at some mods. I swapped the scales between the two and kept the blacked out screws with the DLC blade. Aside from some use, that one is still pretty factory standard except for the grey scales. On the other one, I dyed the Digicamo scales to red and did an acid etch on it. I love the scales, but I could have done a better job on the etch. It doesn't look uniform because 1) I should have cleaned it better and 2) I used nail polish to protect the edge and a slight bit too much of the pivot area. I may give the etch a second go with only nail polish on the pivot and resign myself to sharpening the Maxamet edge. Overall it was fun and I'm glad I bought these as seconds, because I would be far too afraid to void the warranty if these were fresh factory. Did strip one clip screw in the process, and obviously flipped from tip down to tip up. Pics below.

My original PM2 and PM2 Maxamet:

Good to see more information about the parata hitting the standoff when closed hard. Mine has the same issue.

However, the design is quite fun, and I would love to see an XL version with beefed up lock components (or a comp lock) in a tool steel as a “light folding axe”. The design has that swing!

Mine arrived just before Christmas.
Payed duties in EU because socialism is expensive.

The satin one has the blade off-centered but it's far from touching the scale so I'm not even fiddling with it.

The black one took me a minute to figure out what's wrong with it since it was that good.
They stamped "Spyderco CPM S30V" on both sides of the blade, instead of "Golden Colorado USA Earth Solar System Orion Arm Milky Way Universe".

You can't have too many Millies, brilliant design, both are solid and they're gonna be beaters.

The pocket clip screws were stripped and the grind is ever so slightly off on my Maxamet PM2. Other that that, it was pretty much perfect for a user.

Long time lurker, first time poster here!

It took a while, but finally they arrived to Finland.
PM2 has some marks on the G10, otherwise it is pretty perfect. Manix 2 has also some minor G10 scratches - and is sadly hollow-ground version.

Welcome and congrats to your new knives! :)

Has the hollow grind Manix not been discontinued quite some time ago?!

Got my PM2 Maxamet in EU today. Perfect example. Besides second's notch I can't find any flaws. Thanks Spyderco!
P.S. second one ordered is still in US going from one post to another. Hope to see it someday :)
