I just want to say thank you to Reject for taking the time to unpack his collection and posting photos of his Spydercos. I really do enjoy seeing the oldies and the variants in his, and other peoples, collections. It makes me realize that, in relative terms, I don’t have a problem at all!

Whilst I didn’t actively participate in it, the “I see your .... and raise you ...” thread was a fantastic thread spoiled by the Photobucket debacle. If someone has the time and inclination to properly curate a similar thread ....

This is the RONIN model I liked. This original version has always been my favorite by far. I'm not saying that any of the new renditions of this model are bad>> but I've never liked any of them better than this original, First Generation RONIN. I would love to have another one if I were ever to get lucky. Also I like VG-10 steel for a knife that that. And the original model did have VG-10.

I haven’t seen that YouTube video before; :) interesting stuff.

So; the Yojimbo.

:o Out of context for the thread, due to it still being in production. :D But you can’t put up photos of the Yojimbo without also including some of the Yojimbo 2.

I've had several chances to own a P'Kal model. But I've never been able to see any advantages in the P'Kal over most of the other Spyderco models I dearly love. Like for instance what could I do with a P'Kal that I couldn't do with a C-60 Ayoob, JD Smith or my beloved M390 Military for that matter.

I just never caught on to the concept of the P'Kal model. I'm sure it's great for what it's designed for>> but it's just one Spyder I never really understood

This is one I've been drooling over. They're a few available on the secondary market but they're so spendy.

I really need to go through this thread properly, I probably have a few things to add. Here’s some Lums, actually I think this is all of them save for the Darn Dao (which I haven’t taken a pic of yet) and the elusive one-off Cranberry Lum Chinese folder.

Spyderco C143GPNP Large Lum Chinese Folding Knife 3.75" VG10 Plain Blade,
Pink G10 Handles, Limited Edition

Image

The pink scales ran off knife enthusiasts faster than holy water at a vampire convention.
Prices were so deeply discounted I bought two.
Gave one to my wife and traded one for custom scales for a Tenacious.
The figurine in the picture is actually Japanese, not Chinese.

The Full SE, AUS-8 Catcherman is still one of my favorites for all kinds of food jobs. The idea of a folding fillet knife was not new when Spyderco drew up plans for the Catcherman>> but I still think the Catcherman by far is the best ever folding fillet knife. The full Spyderedged edition is still my fav of all the Catcherman models. I would love to see it return in a newer/better blade steel.

Well "Mad-Mac" your point is very well taken. Because many times a model that fails at the box office when it was still in production on many occasions becomes a collector's delight later down the road.

Knives with unusual features sometimes make for a "collector's dream". AS this model obviously did for you :)

Well it took a lot longer than I thought it would before someone brought up the "CRICKET" model. I have two deceased friends of mine who both just raved over the Cricket and Dodo models both. And these two guys were not "knife people" at all>> but they sure loved both of those models.

The Carbon Fiber Cricket was my fav but there was also a Pink CRICKET that drew a lot of collector interest as well.
